Skychief2001 is correct. There should be one wire with a small connector on it that goes to the "s" terminal on the starter (this is the trigger wire that activates the starter solenoid). All the other wires hook up with the large one. The large wire goes directly to the battery, the smaller wires are used to power various other circuits of the car and have nothing to do with the starter itself. It is just an access point for battery power.
P0420 tells me that the cataylatic converter is not working need to monitor the o2 sensors with a scanner to check reading and verify converter operation
if its leaking get that fixed first these seals can be changed but that is a handful . look behind the driverside wheel take off the plastic shield and there should be a plug that takes 3/8 drive or 1/2
If you are in the Detroit area, I could probably recommend a shop. Lots of salvage yards in the area. Probably can get bumper with color of your car. Good luck.
