take the cap off of the radiator (whil engine is cold) start and run the vehicle. keep runnig 30mins after the vehicle is hot keeping notice of the rad fluid level.
keeping the cap off will prevent the pressure build up that woiuld keep the air in the system, keep adding water or antifreeze as the level goes down. this may take an hour or so.
also with the cap off, you will be able to see if your water pump is operating correctly. you will visibly be able to see movement in the rad when the pum is engaged.
check the radiator cap if the rubber seal is dry rotted or torn this will cause the radiator to not build pressure properly so the fluid can flow properly.also check to make sure there is no air in the system.please rate this
SOURCE: engine overheating
The coolant flush on radiator doesn't do any good. Since you have changed all the key components and still gotten overheated, then the root cause of the problem is the radiator. It got clogged up in small tubes blocking coolant flow. No matter how good the water pump is working but the radiator got clogged up, coolant is not circulating therefore the heat from the engine can't be dissipated to the radiator. Replace your radiator, don't even think about rebuild it. It has been used for 11 years. Make sure to have the correct coolant/water ratio to keep radiator life for years. Good luck.
Testimonial: "Thanks, it was the radiator afterall. They claim hose was attached too tight; caused it to chip. I think I was taken for a ride by AAMCO & Valvoline."

you put transmission fluid in your radiator? You should have antifreeze in your radiator. You could have a bad thermostat that's causing the car to over heat. Does your temp gauge read a high temperature?

Could be the waterpump has a leak. Could be a clogged/blocked radiator. Could be the LIM (Lower Intake Manifold) gasket - a problem that is chronic with GM cars esp 3.1 and 3.4L engines. Could be an air bubble in the system if you didn't bleed it. Could be that you bought a bad thermostat - just because it's new, doesn't mean you got a good one.
Your symptoms could be any of the above. When I had your problem it was the LIM. Check for water in your oil.
