Realigning the front window washer unit

On the drivers side front window washer unit, the water is directed toward the center of the windshield instead of the drivers side. Therefore, the winter salt/dirt is not cleaned on the drivers side. How do you realign/clean the button/port to correct the direction. I've tried a small pin inserted into the unit thinking it might be plugged. Did not help. Pressure is fine, direction is not.

Thanks in advance.

Windscreen washer on Ford Focus comes out rear instead of front most of the time.

Looks like a Body Control Module communication issue.

Windshield Washer
When the washer switch is pulled towards the driver, the SASM sends the washer request to the BCM over the LIN. The BCM activates the windshield wash relay (internal to the BCM) and sends a message to the driver side windshield wiper motor. When the BCM activates the windshield wash relay, voltage is provided to the washer pump, directing washer fluid to the windshield. When the switch is released, the windshield wiper motor continues to activate the windshield wipers for 3 additional wipes and then turns the windshield wipers off.

Where is the fuse for the water pump for the window washer

A washer pump in a car's windshield wiping system moves washer fluid from a reservoir through hoses. The motorized pump pressurizes the fluid to allow it to be squirted from the hoses through nozzles onto the front and/or rear windshield of a car. The washer fluid helps windshield wipers get rid of rain, dirt, or other objects that can interfere with a driver's visibility. If your washer fluid is not being sent out when activated, the solution could simply be filling the washer system's reservoir with more fluid or cleaning the nozzles and hoses. In more severe cases, the washer pump may need to be replaced. Here are steps to troubleshoot a windshield-washer pump.

Sounds like the heater core is leaking. Check for dampness in the carpet near the center of the front floor, under the dash, also be aware of any smell of anitfreeze.

How do I remove the fan switch to replace it on the dash under the radio?

Have your radio code before you pull it out with the right radio tool. This pull would involve removing this parts.
  1. Glove compartment
  2. Driver side panel
  3. Center top dash board
  4. Defrost switch carrier
  5. Radio unit
  6. Center lower half of dash
So I'd suggest go to your local public library and look for your car manual. It would be either Chiltons or Clymers manual, it's not as precise a Bentley VW Official factory repair manual. Yes it really involves taking all those parts out just to get to the rotary switch.

Water accumulates only on the front and rear driver side floor boards and "only" after it rains. I was told it might be a plugged drain. How can you tell if its a plugged rain drain and not a poorly sealed...

take a star screw driver and punch a pair of holes in your floor on drivers side make sure once you go through push the screw driver towards the front of the car and creat angled pockets
these will be your new drains being so small they will bnot tako on water or they will take on a min of water and they will drain the floors

it''s the easiest way to fix the problem go right through the carpet it's just thet easy use a good pointy screw driver or a center punch but dont make the hole larger then 1/4 inch
a mechanic will carge you 250 to fix original drains and will likely do the same as i said a couple of wacks near the lower center on the floor boards
so get in place feet on floor slide them back against the seat with it all the way back now place pointy object between feet and wach it with a hammer
once through push pointy objest forward to create new drain

Water in pass. side floor

Check your firewall between front psngr side and engine bay and psngr side fender. Check If there is no leak from you windshield or window, then your floor board might have a hole in it too. Simple window/door leak check, (preferrably at night) have someone who smokes cigarettes sit in the psngr side with all the windows closed and have him him/her blow smoke towards the windshield, window, and towards the middle of the 2 doors. If you want to put the fan in the car as well do it but car will stink more. While you stand outside and see if smoke is coming out. Hope this helps.
