I have a 1992 Grand Prix SE 3.4 liter. It is a five speed Manuel. I started the car the other day and I could cut the car off because the ignition switch is stuck and will not turn backward. What can I do to correct this problem?

SOURCE: 2000 grand prix day time running lights/blower not working correctly

Believe it or not, but it was a bad ignition switch. I the switch apart and found about 3 different and one in particular that were burned pretty bad. Must have been the circuit that controls the blower and DRL? Found the solution on another blog. I put a new switch on in about 1.5 hours. I does take a couple special tools, very small female torx sockets. Other than that pretty easy.

SOURCE: 96 grand prix se engine problems

Your problem may be a faulty (shorted) ignition coil housing assembly (the white plastic cover housing the coils its bolted to the aluminum cover) change that along with the spark plug boots ( the boots are optional but I recommend it) that should get your Grand Prix running smooth. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help

SOURCE: Trouble with alarm of Pontiac Grand Prix SE

I will assume your alarm system is factory installed, which makes it a passive system. This being said there has to be a "valet" switch for the alarm system. it will be one of two places, first check the obvious and look at the dash panel under the steering wheel, there might be a pushbutton kill switch there, or a rocker switch of sorts. If no luck there, the blinking status light that is on your dashboard might be the switch itself. Try "GENTLY" pushing it in. if it does push, the red light will start to double blink, this is normal. If neither of these solve it, call yoru local dealer and ask them where the switch is. Good Luck

SOURCE: 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix... Key stuck in ignition

Possibly shift interlock problem check the btsi fuse in the instrument fuse panel. There is a shift lock actuator in the column or center console that could be your culprit depending on if you have a column or floor shifter.

The SE and LE indicate opinions on the cars. Most of the parts will interchange. When doing engine changes, the best way is to swap the ECM also.
