Buick Regal 2000 Heater Control Panel

My heater/ac control panel isn't working correctly. It kind of has a mind of it own so to speak. When the car first starts, it works fine, but when I try to change something is when the stuff hits the fan. The buttons won't respond to being pushed. When I hit the defrost button, i have to hold it in until it turns on (by the way, the display doesn't show up either). Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It won't go lower then 90degrees when actually on. I have read that it could be some soldering issues. Any ideas?

SOURCE: I have numerous proglems.

Your rear turn signal flashes fast because the front is not working. Most likely you have a burnt out bulb in the front. If your A/C compressor can be turned over by hand and doesn't lock up or make any clanking sounds it's probably alright. The compressor will not run if the system is low on refrigerant. If you're having problems with the A/C and heater controls, that would be the first ting to repair. It doesn't sound at all like any electrical problems.

SOURCE: My heater/ac fan sometimes won't work. What do I check first?

$24the AC light does not light until you turn the fan on, that is ok, the issue with your fan only working sometimes is more than likely a faulty blower motor, in some cases it is the switch, when the motor does not turn on try tapping it and see if that makes it work, if it does then it is the motor.
the switch at autozone is part number SW295 and is $16
the motor at autozone with the blower wheel is part number PM136
cost is $24

How do you find the heater/AC fuse? It clicks but won't turn on!

There should be a 30amp HVAC fuse in the fuse box in the passenger compartment. The location should be in your owners manual.
Keep in mind you have an electronic control panel and a control module that manages the blower speed and the other controls. Either one of these components could have failed.

2000 buick regal winshield will not defrost i have ice inside and out

If you are getting heat inside the car, the defroster should also work. There is a control switch problem that doesn't switch to defrost from heat, or the compressor for the air conditioner is not functioning...it provides heat for defrosting as very dry air to the heater box.

How do I replace the ac control module on my 2005 Buick Park Avenue?

I worked on my 98 LeSabre this summer for connector problems on the programmer. If yours is built the same as mine for dual automatic air conditioning, the bottom of the programmer box had a link rod that snaps onto the heater box itself and controls the mix of air to the passenger side.

I wonder if that link is not snapped onto the white plastic connector that's a part of the door inside the heater box. It's a press fit just push it in. Take off the sound deadener panel under the passenger dash and look up. You'll see a vertical box at the right like a large paperback book sitting at an angle to the heater box with a metal rod about 5 inches long extending left toward the heater box. It should be snapped onto a nylon connector.

My heater isn't working..how do i fix it?

Here's a list of possible culprits:

Priority Action Part Type Cause
1 Inspect - Antifreeze Needed - Coolant Level Low.
2 Inspect - Heater Control Valve - Leaking or Faulty Heater Control Valve.
3 Inspect - Thermostat - Thermostat Stuck Open.

First thing to check is your engine coolant level - quick and free.
Since your blower works, my nominee for the offending part would be the Heater Control Valve, which redirects hot coolant into the passenger compartment heater core. Without hot coolant, the blower will just blow cold air, since the heater core isn't getting the needed flow of hot coolant through it.
There may also be a fault in the "Temperature Valve Actuators" (there is a right hand and a left hand version of these - one for each side of the car).
The Right hand Temperature Valve Actuator is AC Delco part #15-72971.
The Left hand Temperature Valve Actuator is AC Delco part #15-72972.
Their pictures are available in the online AC Delco Parts Catalog at:

Fan Blows, heater works, NO light on "A/C" Power

Yeah, before you do that, check all your fuses first to make sure there isn't a blown fuse. If all ok then it's time to start looking into the ac control panel. Some panels can be disassembled and a little cleaning can get them working again, just takes a little time, better that $300 to $500 for a new one.
