Impala 2005 gas smell on inside of car

I have a gas smell that is coming from under the hood of my car. It is an impala 2005. It use to be just on the outside but now I can smell it more on the inside of the car. What could be causing this?

There is a very sour odor in my 2009 Impala when I crank it. This is while running outside air. When I turn on recirculating air the foul odor goes away in a matter of seconds.

Sounds like a fuel leak and is getting progressively worse. Do NOT let it go - get it fixed before you have a fire

Leaking gas 2005 Chevy Impala

look under the hood while vehicle is running, this will be the easiest way to find it. it may be something as simple as a dry rotted rubber fuel line.

My 2005 Chevy Impala smells gasy when ever started and sometimes after idling for awhile.

SMELL GAS YOU NEED CHECK ALL FUEL LINES UNDER THE HOOD IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT.IF GAS IS STRONG UNDER HOOD YOU DONT SEE LEAKING FUEL LINES.YOUR FUEL RAIL FUEL INJECTORS LEAKING OR FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR O - RING OR DIAPHRAM LEAKING GAS.IF FIND NO LEAKS UNDER THE HOOD CHECK FUEL LINES UNDER CAR FROM ENGINE TO FUEL TANK FOR LEAKS.IF ALL IS GOOD YOUR EVAPORATIVE CANISTER SOAKED WITH GAS OR YOUR EMISSION EVAPORATIVE SYSTEM NOT WORKING. DEALERSHIP HAS TO CHECK AND FIX.

When stopped at a red light, stop sign etc... i can smell a gasoline oder inside my car.....any clue on the cause?

CHECK FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR.LOCATED AT REAR OF ENGINE ,ABOUT CENTER UNDER HOOD JUST OVER TOP OF VALVE COVER..IF BAD YOU WILL SEE GAS LEAKING WHILE ENGINE IS RUNNING.. NOT TOO EXPENSIVE AND A COMMON PROBLEM..

2005 Chevy Impala exhaust smell

neither one of these would cause gas to leak. sure it is not coolant ? if you think it is gas it is not safe to drive car as it could catch on fire. possible cause would be a leaking injector.

it could be your head gaskets and thermostat going bad. those have to be fixed or your car will overheat and will cost tons of money to fixed...just went through the same thing

2003 Chevy Impala Service Traction Sytem show on Dash

I can't answer the question about the gas fumes, but I had the same problem last year with the "Service Traction Sysytem" message and the Trac and ABS lights coming on in my Impala. Mine turned out to be because of a bad wheel bearing, that was causing the ABS and traction system not to work. I'm not sure if you've experienced this, but another thing that would happen with mine was that I would go to brake and have a hard time depressing the brake pedal, almost like it was pushing back. That is the point when the Trac and ABS lights came on.
