SOURCE: Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.0 litre

Same problem for me. The car would idle at about 2500 when started from cold and about 3 miles on would not idle at all, resulting in the revs dropping off when changing gear or stopping. Also rather jerky in top gear unless thrashed - numerous trips to the garage for air idle valve, injectors etc. but still a problem! Have just found out that GVs are a bit prone to carbon build up in the throttle body - mine was almost blocked - it now feels like a different car.

SOURCE: engine stalls when put into gear, idle fines in park

This is a comon problem with GM cars. Most likely cause is the torqe converter clutch lock up solenoid.

SOURCE: Vibration when in gear, and stalling.

The problem is the torque converter solenoid. I had it happen on my 94 Cavalier a few years back and was a cheap fix at the local car mechanic. What happens is the transmission warms up and hits a certain speed where the solenoid engages, but then it sticks and won't disengage until it cools down sufficiently. When it sticks, it causes the car to shake when slowing down and will snub out the engine if you come to a stop.

SOURCE: Car hesitates/stalls when engine is warm and car starts to move.

Sounds like a bad motor mount, pop the hood and see if the motor shakes or moves rapidly when u put it in gear holding down the brake.

How can i fix my 2003 holden barina `eps warning light from coming on

It'll pay to have the crank sensor checked. They're known for heating up and stalling the car when they're no longer any good. Usually once it has cooled down the car will start but as soon as the sensor gets hot it'll stall again

My Suzuki carry van cuts out when you stop and starts straight away have had it put on a diagnostic but shows nothing

no year,
no country
no engine stated, (a hard nut to crack)
we (usa forum) do not have Carry here, so.. that is a problem.
UK usage of "straight way": i see.
so this is called 1 of 2 things
engine stalls?
or engine misfires, or both.
Many engines, (ours) have this thing called EGR.
and if it sticks it stalls on ours. it closes just as you stop
so if it dont, it will stall. (we clean it and it works , if lucky)

as is never getting a tuneup and spark is (uk;dodgy)
there are 50 causes for stalls(most inside engine proper)
the classic 3 ways.
  1. bad engine bad, or cant breath or egr stuck open or cat melted.
  2. bad spark. (tune up time, mate?)
  3. EFI sensors read wrong, so fueling is bad. or fuel pressure is weak.
in all cases we use tools to find it , after the 100k meter, service tuneup is done.
tools as in meters and gauges, (spanners are a given)

88 f250 stalling

If it's a 7.3 deisel, your timing could have jumped one tooth or your injector pump slipped one way or another. Pull your pump, lines and gear and engrave a line straight up from the timing mark so you can see it when you reset the timing gear.
