Have a dirt bike with headlight. Three wires for hi/lo, how do I put two fog lights in place of that head light without too much wiring work. I don't need hi/lo option

one wire will for high beam
one wire will be for low beam
the last wire will be ground wire
as fog light have only one beam you can use the low beam wire and parallel wire it to the fog lights
that way you have the head lights still and the fog lights as accessories correctly wired according to regulations
how to do it simply-- find the low beam power wire ( light switch on low beam and power at the light bulb check ed with a multi meter set on volts
solder , piggy back, or double plug in a connection into that wire and run one wire to the left fog light and one to the right fog light connect each fog light to an individual ground wire and connect those wires back to the ground wire for the main lights
Now having done that simple addition to the lighting system another problem has come up
The wiring will now be too light to carry fog light current and or the light switch will burn out
To over come this problem, the circuit needs a relay
fit a relay on the bike and now run the low beam wire to a terminal of the relay
run the other terminal wire to ground
this enables the relay to operate when the low beam is switched on but at this will not switch on the lights yet
now you have to run a heavy gauge wire (fused at the battery) to one of the power terminals of the relay and from the other power terminal to the connection for the fog and low beam lights
Now it all works switch on the high beam and no for lights
change to low beam and the fog lights come on as well
All nice and legal
Of course if you don't care about being legal just buy a 30 amp toggle switch and run a fused wire directly to the switch from the battery to the lights and then to ground from the lights
You will know that the generator / alternator for the bike will not be able to run the fog lights with or without the main lights so what will you have achieved

91 ram 50 2.4= 4 fuel injection wires 3 have good power and low ohms the Y/B wire #1 cyl has lower volts and high ohms. Only running on 2,3,4 cylinders #1 not working???

Cut the wire a couple of inches from the plugs. Test resistance from the plugs to the end of the wire. If it is good(0), then run a new wire between the plugs. You don't have to put the wire in the harness.

Suzuki solio Sterring not smoot and motor is hot

I suspect the belt is lose. Its probably not turning water pump or the power steering pump. You car has an electric cooling fan, but it still won't cool if the pump isn't circulating the water through the radiator. Should be easy to tell. Just look under the hood with the engine running and have someone turn the wheel. You should be able to see, hear and or smell if the belt is slipping

2004 Dodge Dakota V8 that is Idling very rough and the engin stops at times, and the automatic transmission is also not shifting smoothly.

transmission probably needs fluid and filter change. as for the the engine not running smootly, it may be in need of a tune up, you know, changing air filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires... or it could be a weak fuel pump.

I have a problem with the aircondition wiring. There are no electrical power at the aircondition pump to activate it. Have already checked the relay in the enjin compartment and thats not faulty. Regards

If the freon is low there won't be power to the pump. If the pressure switch in the low pressure line is bad it won't run. Find the switch and unplug it and jump the hot wire to the ground and see if it will run. In other words if the plug has 2 wires cut a peice of wire and stick it in the plug. It temporally replaces the switch.

I want to know where it runs to. ( plug for my A/C compressor)

ok there are two wires

the black wire goes to ground.

the dark green/white wire goes to the power steering pressure switch. the other wire on that switch is dark green and it goes to the low pressure cycling switch. the other wire on this switch is light green and it goes to your controll head......... the a/c switch sends battery voltage down this wire, through the low pressure switch, throught the power steering pressure switch and down to the compressor.

My check engine light is on and the vehicle is not running smoot

Have the code read to help you diagnos the problem. You can do this for free at advance auto. Need to find out what made the check engine light come on. It will not go off by itself and must be reset using the scan tool.

No running lights on camper trailer

Hey Paul, it's most likely a wiring problem. There is one wire designated for just the running lights. What type of plug does the truck have? Probably 6 or 7 way (6 or 7 wire). You can check the plug-in at the truck with a multi-meter to see if there's power at that point. If there is, then the problem is somewhere from the trailer plug to the lights on the trailer. If you have a 7 way plug, the center plug is for aux. power (back up lights on what you pull, if equipped). One wire is power to the camper battery for a breakaway switch, one for left turn and stop, one for right turn and stop, a ground wire, one for running lights, and one for trailer brakes. To determine what wire does what, 1st with meter check volts of all wires w/ truck and trailer hooked up, truck running, power wire to battery for breakaway should show voltage if equipped w/ a trickle charge, brake wire will show low voltage, approx. 2 volts, apply brakes and should go up to approx. 12 volts, put on L turn signal, meter should go up and down, as power to blinker pulses on and off, do the same to determine which is the R turn signal (put foot on truck brakes will show voltage to brake lights AND brakes, continue w/ process of elimination to determine which is running lights, and exactly where power is not going.
