Check fuel injectors, possibly clogged, also change fuel filter and another is a possible, fuel pump inside the gas tank.

SOURCE: 1996 Nissan Maxima 2.5 V6 Engine Knock sensor

The knock sensor is a major pain in the a..s to change I would suggest taking it to a reputable shop for a second opinion to see if they realy performed the work. Also with OBD11 (2) diagnostics if you have multiple misfires its not the wires its something else, also if you got a code for a misfire it would be specific as to which cylinder is misfiring. My best guess would be to get your coil checked.

SOURCE: knock sensor

You have to take the entire intake manifold off upper and lower. you will find it on the main block after you take the lower manifold off.

SOURCE: Fuel pressure regulator location on a 2002 Dodge

The regulator is in the fuel tank. You must drop the tank to get to the system It is part of the fuel pump/fuel pressure regulator/fuel level sending unit. If just changing the regulator which you can, make sure you install new o-rings, put a little clean gas on them to install. Cheaper than a new fuel pump.

SOURCE: Diagram available for 01 Nissan Xterra Knock Sensor location?

V6 3.3L The sensor is located underneath the air intake manifold on top of the engine block. This should take an experienced mechanic about 3-4 hours to replace.

My car putters and turns off when I slow down and come to a stop

start with fuel pump inside the gas tank and work your way up the fuel line...on the way you will find fuel filter and fuel injectors, all of these coud be not functioning properly or clogged.

Hi, I started having a problem with my 2002 Xterra: the car dies at idle.Runs good on freeways, but as soon as you slow down-red light,etc- just turns off. I thought I put a really bad gas in somewhere in...

i recently replaced mas air flow sensor in one for similiiar complaint.i would go with mechanic #2.recall is to replace steering shaft on "salt" state vehicles.u-joint in shaft bcomes corroded and binds causing stiff steering complaint.

Where is the fuel pump on a nissan xtrail

Inside the gas tank. Most fuel injection systems have the fuel pump in the gas tank. You should not run your car down to empty because you can damage the fuel pump.

When engine is warmed up the car begins hesitating

I really think it's the TPS, (throttle positioning sensor) on the throttle body. When this sensor is defective or out of position the vehicle will idle like that and even stall. If you haven't had it scanned, you should do so, that will probably tell you the problem.

XTERRA 2002 SUV STOPS RUNNING WHILE DRIVING, AND THE WHEEL LOCKS UP, CAN'T TURN THE WHEELS. ALSO, STOPS RUNNING WHEN SLOWING DOWN. THIS IS A FRIGHTENING SITUATION. PLEASE HELP.

Check for a loose wire around the ignition. Also the ground wire from the engine to the body. The steering should not actually lock up, but will be very hard to turn when the engine stops. I assume it idles and starts fine?? But it shouldn't! Frankster016
