Hard starts, drive when it wants and dies when it wants???

It starts best in cold weather...hard start at first, approx. 2-3 tries...when started, drives well for about 5-7 minutes then dies wherever it's at. kind of like a dead battery. i've driven it for about 45 minutes once...ran fine then wouldn't start again. it will drive when it wants...i put in a new fuel filter, thermostat, drained the radiator, full tune up, oil change the whole nine yards... what can be wrong??? did a diagnostic on it and it gave me the code 34. i looked it up and it said that it was the speed control solenoid circuits: haynes auto manual meaning: an open or shorted condition detected in the speed control vaccum or vent solenoid circuits... where do i find this?

There's probably a group of solenoids around the engine bay somewhere, and these are part of it. I believe the speed control vacuum solenoid is for the cruise control system, and the vent solenoid I think would be for the evaporative emissions system-what keeps your gas vapors from the tank escaping to air- but traps them in a charcoal canister full of charcoal. The canister is probably under the hood too. Those solenoids act as on-off switches for controlling vacuum to other parts. You need to look at the wiring for them is what the code is saying.
The code may or may not be related to your hard starting or no start conditions. Sounds pretty bad. Check for a major air or vacuum leak around the vacuum lines and the intake manifold.
After that, probably back to basics-gas or spark may be giving you a problem. Monitor the fuel pressure, engine off and engine running. Check for a strong blue spark on all cylinders.

Hi, my 95 honda accord lsi 2.0 doesnt start, couple days ago it hardly started in cold weather, and today it just didnt started at all. Could it be a gas filter, or maybe candles, or gus pump ??..what...

Have you tried checking the battery? Try to give it a jump with another car. Cold weather kills car batteries FAST. Does the car crank over at all? Or does it just make a clicking sound without actually turning the motor? If jumping it gets it started, replace the battery and you shouldn't have any problems. Batteries typically last between 2-5 years depending on their use, if you have a lot of sick car audio and electronics pulling juice, it will cause a "deep cycle" which car batteries were not designed for and that will kill them quick too. If replacing the battery works for a while, but then it dies soon thereafter, you might need to start looking for possible short circuits or current draws. Hope this helps!

1998 S-10 cold start

The cold weather wreaks havoc on everything. I am thinking that the cold weather and your octane rating are not getting along, hence no error codes. Have you tried fuel drier and or octane booster?Since the truck starts when the temperature gets warmer, I would look at octane as the culprit. Try some octane booster and see if that helps. Let me know. Hope this helps.
