The truck started having issues with no power and no acceleration over 2500 rpm. I noticed a very high pitch squeal coming from around the evaporator case, but could not find any vacuum leaks. I replaced plugs, wires, and have cleaned out the IAC of any carbon. The problem is still there. I am also getting a IAT code on the mil??
You don't say what the year and model is - you may have an intake air temp sensor thats supposed to be in the intake manifold or the air hose that would be in the area of the back of the engine. If it is pulled out it would cause a hissing noise, not really a squeal.
A squealing noise is usually a slipping belt or bad bearing.

If this engine is a VORTEC then you may have a problem with the internal fuel system. Under the top plenum there is a fuel reg and poppet valves that inject fuel into the cylinders. Sometimes the tubes that run fuel from the reg to the valves can leak and cause your problem. This cannot be found with pressure check because this occurrs after the reg. PS fuel mileage will go down. Let me know if this helps.Moe

One of the belt should be loose or worn. Make sure they are not worn or cracking before tightening.
