There is a squealing noise under the hood when starting

The truck started having issues with no power and no acceleration over 2500 rpm. I noticed a very high pitch squeal coming from around the evaporator case, but could not find any vacuum leaks. I replaced plugs, wires, and have cleaned out the IAC of any carbon. The problem is still there. I am also getting a IAT code on the mil??

You don't say what the year and model is - you may have an intake air temp sensor thats supposed to be in the intake manifold or the air hose that would be in the area of the back of the engine. If it is pulled out it would cause a hissing noise, not really a squeal.
A squealing noise is usually a slipping belt or bad bearing.

If this engine is a VORTEC then you may have a problem with the internal fuel system. Under the top plenum there is a fuel reg and poppet valves that inject fuel into the cylinders. Sometimes the tubes that run fuel from the reg to the valves can leak and cause your problem. This cannot be found with pressure check because this occurrs after the reg. PS fuel mileage will go down. Let me know if this helps.Moe

SOURCE: high pitched squealing noise when i start engine

One of the belt should be loose or worn. Make sure they are not worn or cracking before tightening.

Why want my 2002 Nissan Altima want rev over 2500 RMP?

It sounds like you have a problem with the AWU. Accelerator Working Unit, a fancy term for the gas petal. If it is not getting the proper voltage to the ECM it will default to a RPM like you are geting, 2000-2500 rpm. Find one from a junkyard and try it out. I would not shake anything that will just cause other issues.

My jeep makes noise when accelerating

possibility of CV joint but then you should get the same sound at low speeds also.

if you getting this sound only at 2000-2500 rpm may be over advance ignition timing

2000 Impala high pitched squeal, not a pulley

It could be a vacuum leak on the inlet manifold or pipes Start engine and allow it to idle, spray some wd 40 or similar around the inlet manifold & vacuum pipes, if you notice a change in engine speed when you spray you will have found the area of the leak

2001 escape squealing noise when engine is under presure

Use a mechanic's stethoscope to locate the culprit sqeal. Have a technician rev the engine, in order to produce the squeal. Lay the stethoscope tip utop the water pump, nearest the armature. Locate squeal in this fashion against the idler pulley(if applicable), the alternator, the air conditioner compressor, power steering pump (if applicable), the cam shafts (if applicable), and finally the crank. This will help isolate the location of the squeal.7_20_2012_9_07_34_pm.jpg

A loud noise when I turn on the AC and shift it to D or R.

What kind of noise? If it's like a squeal it is a lose belt. If it's more like a clunk it's the transmission shifting and you just happen to notice it more because of the higher RPM the motor is at with the AC on. Try getting the vehicle moving with out the AC on then turning it on after you are moving to see if you get the same sound. If it's a squeal you have a loose belt that needs replacement or tightening.

Strange noise when accelerator is pressed...

Look for cracked and gummy vacuum hoses. It's time to see if any are in this condition or disconnected entirely.
