Felt like it stalled and I pressed the gas then it puttered out and turned off while still in drive. All electrical is working. You can turn the key but the engine doesn't turnover.
You might find that your issue is with the ignition coil. Symptoms also include white crusty powder around the positive connection on your battery. Keep in mind other issues can cause that powder effect too.
I suggest (if you haven't already done so) is replace your plugs, leads and coil. Should cost approx $200 incl labour (off the top of my head)
Hope this helps

You never leave a car running, as it will overheat the Exhaust Converter When you run out of fuel, you sometimes ruin the Fuel Pump It depends on gas to lubricate it,as strange as it sounds Check fuel pressure & volume at the motor with a gauge
I recommend doing a leak down test. It could be valves or blow by. Also try cleaning the idle air control valve (IAC-V), the exhaust gas recirculation valve (EGR), and fast idle valve (if it has one).
Hello, sounds like you may have a engine miss, things like spark plugs, plug wires, fuel injectors can cause a engine miss. you will need to have the system scanned for trouble codes. once a trouble code has been pulled form the system you will have a much better idea what the problem might be
If you were low on gas at the time, it could have shifted the fuel in the tank when you turned. The engine can stall for a couple of seconds and then restart as the fuel pump primes again.
there should be a large rubber tube that connects the throttle body to the air filter box...check the tube - take it off and flex it around. look for any cracks in it. if there are any, you can patch them temporarily with rubber cement and electrical tape. You really should replace it. only the toyota dealer can get it. it is called the Air Horn in the parts computer.
