I believe that engine has a chain not a belt and is not serviceable through maintanance.
why in the world would you give me an inappropriate mark for telling you the engine has a chain and not a belt? call the dealer and ask how many people schedule a timing chain replacement through routine maintanance. you would only replace if tearing down for another reason and they had to come off. like blew headgasket or something, then i would replace. the guides and tensioners do wear but will rarely break and there will be an audible to signal that beforehand. sorry if i offended you but i did answer the question reasonably
OK FINE, LET ME CLEAR THIS UP FOR YOU, I CALLED THE DEALER MYSELF, THERE IS NO RECOMMENDED TIME OR MILEAGE INTERVAL ON REPLACING THE TIMING COMPONENTS ON A 2004 TOYOTA COROLLA. I TOOK THE TIME TO TRY TO HELP AND THIS IS WHAT I GOT. THANKS...MY MISTAKE...ILL BE MUCH MORE CAREFUL NEXT TIME SOMEONES ASKS THIS QUESTION.
thank you, much appreciated. merry christmas!

chains stretch, tensioners, and guides wear....are there not recomended mileage for replacement or service of componants ?
because it was an innappropriate answer, the question wasn't what are the parts, but the recomended scheduling for replacement... all car manufacturers recomend specific intervals, times, or mileage for scheduled maintenance.....most cars need replacement of the belt/ or chain from btween as low as 30,000mi-to 100,000mi , and that was my question....my mistake ..but i should have called the dealer, i just thought this would be quicker
