One day started up all dash indicator lights came on and stayed on until I shut it down and restarted it. At that point only a few stayed on shut it down again and restarted everything was normal. Drove a few times then got in and it wouldn't turn over at all which I knew was going to happen because I could not unlock the door with the button on the key ring. Went to start it up and a few dash warning lights came on but, no radio, or window power. It made a noise like it was surging power but, would not turn over. Dome light worked and the external temp. was showing up but, that seems like that was it???????

Are you using the original key that came with the car? The chip in that key may have gone bad. Try using the spare key that should have come with the purchase of the car. You may also be having battery issues. If all else fails....call the people who really know how to rape you...DUM Dum dummmmm....the dealer

Sounds like an antitheft problem I would start with the antitheft system. Usually when you only have one key all keys have to be programmed together even the original. When you have more than one it is easy to program additional keys.

Try unhooking the battery, turn key on, leave door open, then connect battery, start engine immediately. The battery saver module thinks it's saving your power!!

Sounds like the starter is the culprit, when the brushes in it are almost gone they will work intermittently and if the brushes aren't touching then you won't even get a click because of the lack of ground for the pull in portion of the starter solenoid winds. The next time it won't start, give the starter a tap or two to confirm this.It should start if i'm right. The starter is under the passengers side just to the rear of the front tire, bolted to the bell housing.

Hello
The problem you are describing is common in the type of starter design this truck uses (and all GM cars and trucks), the starter solenoid has heavy copper contacts inside it that energize the starter when the plunger in the starter solenoid is pulled back by the magnetic field, that is the clicking or clunking you hear. To repair this you can either pull the starter out and replace the copper contact feet inside the solenoid on the starter or you can just install a rebuilt starter, which I suggest on cars and trucks with over 75,000 miles on the ticker. The starter is located at the bottom rear of the engine at the transmission bell housing, it is held in by two bolts to the engine block, disconnect the battery before starting any work and mark the wires remove from the starter solenoid, not marking them is the single biggest error you can make, there are only 3 or 4 wires but you can still get them mixed up. Rebuilt starter are very reasonably priced for most V8 engine used in the HD, the one exception is the Diesel. If you have time to wait for a part you can save about 40% over local parts stores by ordering from an Internet parts supplier called www.rockauto.com You can also buy a rebuilt kit here fo rthe solenoid. http://www.nationsautoelectric.com/Nippondenso.html
Below is a picture of the contacts that burn. There of course are two contacts.
