Im not a trans. expert but would verify the range sensor (gear indicating sensor) is working properly and the L/R solenoid is ok. those are the 2 suspects for your problem

although you can access the electrical connector for range sensor externally, you must remove trans valvebody to service. also this range sensor has an integrated temperature sensor in range sensor itself. this sensor may take care of both problems. keep me posted, curious to see end result. i do not rec. removing valvebody unless pretty experienced.

4 cyl. Auto trans. in limp mode. takin the shift solenoid out to re build it i fnd ripped wires. My question may seem should i re connect the first or cont with the shift solenoi

Unfortunately, you should have gotten the diagnostic codes for the transmission before messing with the shift solenoid. Most of those dodge shift issues are caused by input and output speed sensors.

1991 tcm dodge dynasty where is it on the car will not shift out of 2 gear

you trans is in limp in mode usually caused by sensors on that model, input and output sensors in trans, but you need to determine that before you replace anything, use a scanner to read the codes then go from there

2002 neon tranny probs...spedo doesn't work..changed both input and output speed sensors, trans in limp mode obd2 codes 1698 and 500

the sensor magnet wheel in the output shaft of the tranny can be sliiping on the shaft but!! due to it being a 2001 model you more than likely ahve internal clutch pack issues and bad worn or burnt clutch disk that tranny will not perform with severe internal damage

2003 dodge neon only runs in first gear slips at 1500 rpm , must shut car off an turn on for it to run , wont shift out of first.runs fine in reverse.is it a pcm problem.

No,Your car is in "limp"mode,
there are three sensors on the transmission that tell the computer how fast your going so it knows to upshift,
have someone check input sensor, output sensor, and speed sensor.

1997 dodge caravan shifting problems have codes p700 and po750

p0700 is indicating a trans fault present..p0750 is low-reverse solenoid circuit..most likely defective solenoid pack on front of transmission..300-400 dollar part

Limp mode?

It may have a "loss of prime" code that usually follows a service of the fluid and filter. After you're sure the fluid is full at operating temperature, disconnect the battery for a few minutes and reconnect to see if the code resets. I hope this helps.

95 dodge intrepid wont shift out of first gear

It sounds like the trans has gone into "Limp In" mode. You may need to access the trans controller and look at fault codes. A Generic OBDII scanner may give you the codes. You could also try disconnecting the battery which will reset the trans controller. (however that is not a cure but it will verify the trans was in fault mode) The most common issues I've seen have been with the "Input" and "Output" Turbine Speed Sensors. They are both mounted on the trans case (External). The input is towards the front and the output is near the rear.

LIMP MODE

Transmission Control System Malfunction. It means you have a trans control problem in the trans computer.
You will need to get it on a trans capable scanner to see what the trans code or problem is. You should get it to either the dealer or a good transmission shop to the the trans capable scanner done to see the exact problem

more than likely it is a trans speed sensor..you didnt say if the check engine light is on but i am assuming it is. the input or output sensor failing will put the trans into limp in mode
