Hi princesso, the engine light on indicates a problem, and you need to check for stored codes in the cars computer. Even if the corolla is runnin ok, you should find out what is wrong, as it can lead to more problems later if not fixed. To do this, as you know, you need a scan tool that will plug in to the computer port in the car, probably located under the dashboard. The scan tool will 'read' any codes stored on the computer. The codes will give you the information you need to determine what is wrong and has caused the light to turn on. You can then correct the problem, and withe the scan tool, turn off the light. If you can get the codes, (they are in the form of numbers) and post them here, I will try to help you fix the problem. Let me know!! Good luck!!

Purchased focus sport 2006 model no service manual. Mileage 43,000 kms. Need to know service intervals either time/mileage perhaps a copy of the service schedule will suffice.

These maintenance intervals come from the maintenance interval calculator
at www.autozone.com, using a starting point of 25,800 miles (43000 km), and
assuming 1000 miles (1666 km) driven per month, and "severe driving conditions," which
are actually normal usage characteristics, such as frequent short trips, urban driving, waiting in traffic, driving in hot weather, trips under 16 km in cold weather, etc.

The oil light is reset by the tech on each service. It will not go off by itself. As far as the check engine light goes you now have a code stored and you will need to get it before we can begin to diagnose. Only thing you can do is make sure the gas cap is on and the seal is no cracked or distorted. This could set a code

Check engine light on, auto transmission shifts gears abruptly

It should still be under warrenty Take it to the shop for repairs It is a transmisson problem but many things can cause the transmisson not to shift correctly. Call your service department and ask if you should drive it in or have it towed and do not drive till you have it figured out. If you have a warrenty and continue to drive it will void your warrenty.
