SOURCE: 93 nissan altima died on the road, won't turn

If it just up and died on the road and will not turn over now even with a jump it almost sounds like you engine may have locked up on you. But it is hard to tell without actually seeing the car. For your sake I do hope it is a different problem. I would like to help you out more. Can you be more specific as to what the car did when it quit on you? Did it make any sounds or anything? Did it quit when you where actually driving or were you sitting some place at an idle? I look forward to hearing from you.

SOURCE: My 1999 nissan altima won't start, no crank, not

If you look under the hood, there is a starter relay that might be the problem - but more common than that, - Do you have an alarm system of anykind? If so, It sounds alot like that is the problem, and they are notorious for causing "no start" problems as such - Unfortunatey, the wiring for these (even to just remove one) can be rather involved (as they often cut the starter wire to install an interrupt) so you may have to take it to an auto electric shop, or one that specializes in alarm systems - Also, dealers sometimes install special "electronic lot key systems" in all of their new cars, requiring that the "electronic key" must be present in the vehicle (along with the correct physical key) in order for it to start - I'd check for one of those systems as well - Hope that helps...

SOURCE: daughter was driving her 93 nissan altima, and it

If the car will not turn over it sounds like the starter is bad. However if she was driving it and it just died in the middle of the drive it could be the ignition switch. I hope this helps.

2007 nissan altima won't go in reverse or drive

Hi,
It starts and runs OK, correct?

Check your fluid level - Directions in the Owner's Manual.

Are you pushing the brake pedal b4 trying to move the lever (sorry, have to ask)?

Does the lever move @ all? Into Neutral?

Is the Check Engine Light on?

Sounds like you'll need to have it towed to a shop. Call the Better Business Bureau for a reference, or recommendations from family/friends.

My 2005 nissan altima won't crank or turnover. It justs makes this clicking noise. Can you help me?

The click is most likely the starter solenoid you hear

Should be a familiar sound you've heard may times
on other cars

I would guess you know how old the battery is?

If it is original,it is 8 years old & dead,if so, replace it

If it is only 3 years old ,check the voltage with a meter

Next the solenoid could be working as you hear it,but
it's contacts are burnt,it can be replaced

You remove the starter & change the solenoid

Don't want to do that, buy the entire starter at auto parts,
not a dealer, cost too much to even be there for any reason.

Won,t start after sitting for a short time, but will start fine when cold

Does it crank, yet not start? Or does it not even crank?
If it cranks and doesn't start, you could have a leaky fuel injector. Pull the plugs when this happens, and check them for fuel saturation.

If it doesn't even crank, it could be an intermittent starter.

2005 Altima won't start, hear clicking sound coming from fuse box,key stuck in ingintion, won;t turn over, tried to jump start.

the clicking that you hear is coming from the starter relay. sounds like your ignition starter switch or ignition lock cylinder is bad.

My 1997 Nissan altima wont crank over

Test battery, and check for loose connections. Check starter fuse & relay. If you don't hear clicking sounds while trying to start the car then most likely it's a bad starter relay. If your getting voltage to the starter but no click then you have bad starter.

My 1999 nissan altima won't start, no crank, not even a click. All lights are ok, stereo, wiper, etc. battery is only months old. I pulled out the starter, have it tested at Advance Auto Parts and it worked...

It is possible that the neutral safety switch needs to be replaced. This is on the transmission where the shifter connects to it. Unfortunately it could also be some of the other problems mentioned too , but as I only have this question locked to me for 30 min, could you possibly give me some more time and I will come back to you asap on how you can test this switch first and go from there.

Thank you for your patience

My car won't start I don't hear it crank

Get a test light, and see if your starter has battery power, (big wire/stud) on starter. itll light up if you do. then there should be a little wire. thats your igntion switch wire. have someone start your car while you testing the little wire. if the light comes on. then your starter is probably bad, even if its new they still can be bad. If it doesnt light up then, you need to locate the starter relay in engine compartment,I should have one. test to see if it clicking when you try to start it. youll feel it. If not pull it out and test to see if you have power. do the same test with someone starting it and see if you light comes on. If it comes on then replace the relay. and you could try and see if your ignition fuse is ok. I hope this gets you started. if not right back were your stuck at.
