Blown fuse, or could be the dimmer switch. Check fuses first.

SOURCE: timing degree nissan sentra

Step1 First step is to open your hood on your vehicle and locate the distributor. Step2 Next loosen your distributor just enough that it will turn from side to side with some resistance. Step3After Loosening the distributor take a piece of chalk and mark on theharmonic balancer the timing mark so it can be seen easily. Step4Then take the timing light and connect it to the battery and the Numberone spark plug wire. Then have your helper start the vehicle while youshine the timing light on the harmonic balance and the timing mark onthe timing chainmag-glass_10x10.gif cover. Step5The Timing Light will illuminate the mark on the harmonic balancer whenthe Number one cylinder is firing. The mark should correspond to thetiming mark on the timing chain cover. You can then adjust the timingforward or backwards by rotating the distributor ever so slightly. Step6 When you have the timing where you want it then shut off the engine and carefully tighten back down the distributor without moving it.

I have Nissan Exalta2000, it would power off all of a sudden while driving, the 4 icons on the dashborad lit up and if I stop tha car wont start. it happens 3 times and if I get a mechanic they cannot...

hello there, had to do some looking up as to what NISSAN EXALTA 2000 actualy is. i reside in USA and we do not have exalta on our streets. here, its a powertrain aka engine and transmission in a NISSAN SENTRA so it should be very similar to our sentra as far as setups except for different body. I think that you have an issue with the CRANK ANGLE SENSOR. i would start with replacing the sensor. is the SERVICE ENGINE SOON light on??? if so, that could be for many reasons and one of them would be crank angle sensor issue. nissan had problem with those sensors. they would cause the car to die. nissan had campaign / free replacement program in those model years of nissan sentra 2000 year model. have the crank sensor replaced. start there. like i said very common problem.

2002 Nissan Sentra turns over but will not start

pull one of the coils out of the eng and attach the sparkplug and check for spark. if you don';t have any spark i suggest replacing the crank sensor. if you hae spark check for fuel pump activation. last and most unlikely ecm failure

Its possible, that you crank angle sensor is failing. Also, that vehicle had a issue with the ECM/computer. Nissan put a set of foams inside of the ECM box to prevent the ECM from movement, however the glue that they used to attach the foams was causing the ECM to fail. The vapors from the glue would eat up vital circuits inside the computer causing failuer. I would go to your local dealer and provide them with your VIN nujber. With the VIN number, thay can check to ysee if the foam campaign has been doen and also the crank and cam angle sensor camaign. Nissan volunteraly replaced cam and crank angle sensors if the VIN number matches the campaign. Your ECM/computer is covered for 8years or 80000 miles. We are also starting to see timing chains getting stretched causing running issues, but you will have a "check engine light on" for cam angle sensor circuit. Anyhow, go to your local friendly NIssan dealer and have them run your VIN number to see if you have any open campaigns (crank and cam sensors, ECM foam etc.) Good luck and let me know what you find.

Car dies while driving

I think that your crank angle sensor failed. Is the check engine light on?? if so, scan it and get code. If the code is P0335, than you need new crank angle sensor. Nissan has been having some problems with those even on other Nissan products. (Altima, Pathfinder and so on) Good luck.
