Almost as fast as i put it in. I have to put atleast half a thing of anti in it before i drive it anywhere and i can watch it leak out from near the ron of my car. I looked under the hood and i believe there may be a crack in my raditor on the right side [if you standing facing the car]. can anyone help me with finding the part i need or do i need to replace the whole thing?
If its leaking, its getting over heated because of no water. If its leaking water, you need to check the hoses first, usually old hoses between the radiator and engine burst or have slow leaks. This can not be tested at home, so replacing them is easier, than taking it in for testing. It could be a hose clamp, they are located at the top and bottom of the hoses and just require a screw driver to tighten. Could be the water pump but that makes a whinning noise that you can hear if the radio is not on high. The radiator could have a leak also. best way to find out is fill the water up, and turn the car on and see where its leaking, you might need assistance from someone to raise the rpms by stepping on the gas, make sure its in park. overheating beyond that if all that is good, could be your freeze plug located at the back of the engine in deteriorated. If the engine block had a crack it would usually seize. The block above the engine is wear the cooling takes place, so if the block is cracked it will cause the oil and water to mix and cause overheating, but that is not usually tons of water loss. I would start with the hoses and run the engine and look to see if one is bubbling or leaking. you can spray water on it to see it bubble where the leak is. hoses range from 40-60 dollars because they have insulation coils in them. oh, check the radiator plug at the bottom of the radiator, it might be open or blown.

there is no easy way to change out a heater core...you have to take the bottom part of the dash loose and that takes some doing. once you get the bottom of the dash apart you will see the heater core.then you have to go under the hood and unhook both water lines that run to it, you should then be able to pull the heater core out and install the new one

Check your heater hoses. It sounds like your leak is a hose.
SOURCE: wife,s 97 buick skylark, 2.4 L., leaking water. need help!!!
I had the same problem a month ago. I thought it was the thermostat, which sits inside the lower water feed tube that runs from the radiator, under the car and up between the engine and trans axle to the thermostat housing and water-inlet housing attached to the water pump. I replaced it and it kept leaking. So I got under the car with a mirror and a light and found that it was leaking from a weep hole in the water pump. This happens when the water pump seal is bad. to replace the water pump you nearly have to take apart the back of the engine and the timing chain cover. The waterpump is mounted at the bottom of the back of the engine and is turned by the timimng chain. It took me two days to fix, and it was not easy. There are a couple of sites that have info, which helped me. It's about a $600 - $900 job if you take it to a repair shop.

Mother nature is too slow in finding leaks. Have someone small get in the trunk with a flashligh and watch as you run a hose over everything. LET THE PERSON OUT!
