I'm not low on gas, or oil. It was not over heating. If i let the car sit for about 30 minutes, it will start back up again and drive for about 30 minutes before it drives. I have a new alternator so it's not that.

The engine in this car is electronically controlled and a problem like this would leave a fault code in the memory of the computer control module, to retrieve this code or codes you need the system scanned with a special tool, this is called an "OBD 2" fault code test.

SOURCE: 2003 Hyundai when driving and stopped in

A stuck thermostat can cause this, replace it.

I would also check for proper coolant level and check the engine fan to see if it is working.

SOURCE: I have a 2004 Hyundai elantra. When driving all my

I am having the same problem with my 2004 Elantra. I have had the alternator tested twice and did replace the battery. This morning I had it running ad put a volt meter on it ( red to the battery pos black to the engine block) I did get a reading of 14 volts for about 30 seconds then the idle lowered and the voltage dropped to 12 volts. I tried this again later but could not get a voltage reading above 12 volts with the motor running. Any suggestions?

Engine stalls

Some cars have a oil level sensor in the sump for people like you. The sensor tells the cpu to shut down the engine to prevent damage. Something like a low oil shut down on a small generator set
