SOURCE: the cigarette lighter doesnt work in my 2004 alero

  • Better check the fuse maybe the fuse is busted. But if the fuse is good visit a good electrician to check the wires.

Cigarette lighter doesn't work is there a fuse for it?

hello there:
Yes there is a fuse for the cigarette lighter should be in the driver compartment down by the brake the cover of the fuse block marked cig.lighter pull it out and check to see if the fuse is blown or not. you will be able to see a brake in between the posts of the fuse if that does not solve the problem. you may have a short in the wiring or it could also be a possible that the lighter may not be any good.

Fuse blown on cigarette lighter Saturn 2001

It sounds like you have a bad charging cable for the GPS or the cable is overloading the cigarette lighter.

The cigarette lighter is designed for less power then a 12v power outlet.

Therefore it is easy to blow the fuse for the cigarette light if you install something that draws too much power.

Cigarette lighter socket not working

The fuse for the cigarette lighter is the 15 amp CIG fuse. According to my wiring book, the fuse box is either behind the console, passenger side for US cars, or under the dash, driver side.

Cigarette lighters

Check and make sure there is nothing actually in them. A paper clip or coin may have fallen in one of them causing the fuse to blow as soon as you put a new one in
