1996 gmc jimmy r turn signal cancellation

I just salvaded the jimmy and I need to get a Dmv inspection done. The only problem I am facing is that the right hand turn signal does not cancel. Would this be an easy fix for someone one mecanically inclined or do I need a pro.?

    thank you that info was helpful in deciding the solution, i took it to a mechanic and he replaced the whole turn signal handle.

Your going to need to replace the turn signal switch. it is not too hard remove covers around steering wheel and will be two torx bits

Where is the turn signal flasher relay?
If you have the owner's manual there will be a fuse box diagram and it should include all relays. If not you can purchase a Haynes manual that will also include the diagrams. Most likely the flasher is in the high amp fuse box under the hood and there is usually a diagram on the cover or in the fuse box itself.

The first place to start is with the fuses, make sure all fuses are good, then move on to the signal light switch, brake lights run through signal switch but this sounds like a fuse or the switch.
