How do i fix the central locking on a citroen c2

  • 4 more comments

The central locking has stopped working on my Citroen C2. I've changed the battery in the key fob and a mechanic has checked it and it's working but it won't work on the car. The internal locking button works ok on both doors and the boot. If i use the key manually, it only locks the driver's door and the passenger and boot remain unlocked. I've tried putting the key in the ignition holding down the lock button to reinitialise the key but that doesn't work. Help!!

Yes. I had to reset the key. You put the key in the ignition and turn the electrics on (but not start the engine) whilst holding down the lock button on the key. Keep it held down for about 20 seconds and it should all work again

My central locking doesn't work on citron c2.

If the central locking system is not working on your Citroen C2 and the garage has quoted a high price for a new key and programming, here are a few things you can check:
  1. Check the fuses: Check the fuses for the central locking system. It's possible that a blown fuse could be causing the issue.
  2. Check the battery: Ensure that the car battery is fully charged and functioning properly. A weak or dead battery can cause issues with the central locking system.
  3. Check the wiring: Check the wiring for any damage or loose connections. The wiring for the central locking system is located behind the door panels.
Regarding the passenger door, if it is permanently locked, you can try the following steps to manually unlock it:
  1. Remove the door panel: Remove the door panel to gain access to the lock mechanism.
  2. Manually unlock the door: You can try to manually unlock the door by using a flathead screwdriver or a slim jim to manipulate the lock mechanism.
  3. Check the lock mechanism: Once the door is unlocked, check the lock mechanism for any damage or wear. Replace any damaged parts as needed.
If you're not comfortable with these steps or if the issue persists, it's best to have a professional mechanic diagnose and repair the issue. They will have the knowledge and equipment necessary to properly diagnose and fix the problem.

2005 Citreon C2 1.1 petrol. Key chip broken on unlock, can unlock drivers door manually but cannot open passenger door from inside or outside. I need to open passenger door, any ideas please

Has the Central Locking button on the dashboard stopped working? Have you checked the fuse for the locking systems in the fuse box in the dashboard fuse panel. The panel is located in the LEFT foot well at about knee height when sitting. On LEFT hand drive cars it's behind a trim panel next to the driver's left knee. On RIGHT hand drive cars it's inside the glovebox behind a small trim panel.

Got Citroen C2 2005 1.4 when i use remote it locks the car and then unlocks itself right away . I can hear the locks all locking but then it obviously unlocks on its own ,central locking button same.

Possible cause could be an ignition switch problem - the vehicle may think there is a key in the ignition even though there isn't one inserted..

I have a Citroen c2. There are no lights showing on the dash board and it won't start, there's nothing at all it's completely dead. the fuses & battery are all fine. The central locking still works

Most likely some of so called "maxi fuses" might be blown. There are three fuses location - under your dashboard, under the bonnet and maxi fuses (also under the bonnet).
