I changed my nissan B12 engine and transmission to a nissan B14 engine and transmission. The Tach, fuel and tempeature guage work fine, but the speedometer does not work, because it is a cable connection, and the transmisssion that I have now is an electronic connection.
Can I use the B14 electronic speedometer guage and transfer it into the B12 Instrument cluster and wire it back so that it can work.
Or what instrument cluster can I use that will fit perfect in the dash board without any transition.

An assistant spoke to someone at the service center at the Nissan dealership and they said that it would be the same wire. thanks

SOURCE: instrument cluster bulb is out. how do i replace
It may not be a bulb, as the instrument cluster usually has a number of bulbs and they probably didn't all blow at once. Pulling instrument clusters can be touchy and may not be for the average "shadetree mechanic" however, typically there are a few screws above the cluster going into the dash pad and a few hidden behind the trim panels below the cluster.

It sounds like the connection to the cluster is not making good contact.

is the sensor a gear driven sensor or hall effect sensor, during the transitions on some vehicles they were using gear driven sensors, and not the hall effect sensors. you may be able to use your cable in the sensor hole place.
