2002 Buick Regal won't start

At first, the battery had to be jumped off and it started..then when I went back to start it again (about 3 hours later), it did NOTHING..Bought a new battery and after that all the lights, door locks, etc would work but the car STILL won't start..doesn't even try to turn over.

Hi Debbie , Do you know anything about automotive electrical systems an testing ? Viewing wiring diagrams to see what all is involved in the starting system on your vehicle would be the first step ,then testing the electrical circuits for the starter using a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter .
How to voltage drop test starter motor circuit
Starter Voltage Drop
Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free-tsb Enter vehicle info. Year ,make , model an engine . Under system click engine ,then under subsystem click on starting . Click the search button then the blue link. Looking at the diagram I see when the key is turned to start it send a crank signal to the PCM - engine computer , if the PCM gets a valid fuel enable & starter enable signal from the anti-theft system it will energize the crank relay sending B+ voltage to the S terminal on the starter solenoid . That is if the park neutral safety switch is OK . You mite try putting the vehicle in neutral to see if it starts then. These switch wear on the inside that could cause a no start problem . You can test from the crank relay ,watch this video VEHICLE RELAYS Operation Diagnosis In the video he uses a horn circuit , your crank relay works the same .

remove cowling under hood to expose wiper motor linkage. You have to try it many times but the linkage may not be attached in the correct arc position. Trial by error.

I have a buick regal 1997 and the lights are all on but the car won't start my window wipers work but my locks won't manually unlock from the inside

Does it start if you jump it? Just cause lights come on does not mean you have a good battery. The lights will require less amperage to work than the amperage required to crank the engine. Having stated that, how old is your battery? is your battery able to meet the demand? Have your starting and charging system looked at and good luck

98 Buick Regal won't run unless hooked for a jump.

you may have a bad ground, or the ignition switch needs to be replaced.

Car was rinning perfect. One day it would not start. there was nothing, no clicking ,bell and guages were working. Jump start was nothing. Installed a new battery there was nothing. Went bact back 2 hours...

It sounds like you have an issue with your PassLock security system. I had the same with my 2002 Impala. Key turns OK, but won't start, won't crank. Wait 20-30 minutes, and car starts normally. There is usually a clue from the Battery and Security lights.
The problem starting to happen once a month, and eventually 1-2 times a week.
There are several write-ups on this problem for several GM cars for 2000-2006(?). Search this website, and search the web.
The official solution is to replace the ignition switch. The best solution is to bypass the Pass Lock system. I went ahead and did a full bypass, which involves cutting wires and adding resistors to the ignition circuit. I have not had a problem since.

Won,t start tried jump start hear click when i try

If you hear a click. Then take a hammer and tap the starter while someone is cranking on the vehicle. If it turns over and starts you have a bad starter.Check all the connections and make sure they are clean and tight. Also if you get it running have the battery and charging system tested.Hope this helps.Good luck.

My wife's 1995 Buick Regal has no power

Sounds like a dead cell/shorted battery. 3 years is a little soon but with the fact that you recently replaced the alternator, I would suspect that your battery is done! Even a weak battery will let you jump one, bad cables usually will let you jump one, but a shorted/bad celll in a battery will prevent them from taking a jump. good luck

1993 buick regal start and stall

The average life of a battery is 3 good years, regardless how BIG, or how it cost. Anything after that is a blessing. Personally, I would replace the battery ASAP, and then with a FULLY CHARGED battery. Then drive, and see if the problem still remains. Hope this helps

1995 buick regal gran sport battery draining battery is new. car won't start. starts if jumped and runs fine. shut off and let sit for an hour and won't start again. any ideas

Check the Tension on the Belt. If it is even a Little loose it will not allow the Battery to Charge. Check the Alternator Also.
