My gauges not working on the dash

I did a tune up on the 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier because the service engin light was on and never went out. I changed the air filter and it was still on so I put plugs and wiers on it and then I was told to pull the right turmanel wich it would be the hot post for one minuet to reset the service engein light so I did that. when I did that I took it for a run and I found that the speedomiter-temp-gass-rpms does not work and that means all the gauges dont move but everything else works . what did I do wrong and everything test out good with a test light. william winkleman jr. Service engin light doesn't mean to do a tune - up . It means there is a problem that is causing a emission problem . DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes are stored in the engine computer ! Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop .

Check your master cylinder switch in the res. is not stuck down. When started is the light off until you go over 15 mph? If so check your abs relay. Good luck

I would check to be sure you do not have an internal short with in the alternator or accessory relay.

That slushy brown stuff is signs of a blown head gasket. Have a code scanner hooked up to find out why the light is on, it will probably show coolant temperature sensor. Just out of curiosity, check the pvc valve (if your car has one), and see if it's clogged. If it is replace it, the crank case is not getting ventilated.

SOURCE: SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ON FAILED EMISSIONS

Yes, take it back. The might of replaced the Egr valve to turn off the light. Don't let them charge you for retesting it, that's why you took it in in the first place.

When putting my 2000 Chevy cavalier in gear the headlights flicker and then the service engine light comes on and headlights go out.

As long as you have the service light or any
dash lights lite after you start the motor, you
have to check for obd2 codes first & resolve
thoses issues first.

My 2000 cavalier, 2.2L runs real smooth while driving on a road or street, but when stopped at a street light at idol it seems to run rough and the tach fluctuates. also seems to be getting poor fuel...

I would recommend getting a tune up first and see if that changes how it runs. Also change your fuel filter and air filter. If it doesn't change then it could be a vacuum hose that's off or broke. Also Buy some Techron fuel injector cleaner and dump it in your tank this will help clean your injectors.Since there is no mention of a check engine light being on then this should help.

You need to check your main fuses under the hood first and then check them under the driver side dash board.

Speedometer lights not working how do I get to it , Do i have to take the whole dash board out

You should be able to remove the dash components located around your gauges. Remove the gauge cluster and there will be multiple twist out light bulbs. Find the one in question and replace.
