For Audi A4 the fuse box is located on the left side of dashboard behind a plastic cover (for left hand steering wheel vehicle). Driver's door open. On inner face of the plastic cover you will find the fuse diagram.

there is a set of fuses sometimes on top of the battery itself. Other fuses can be found by removing side dash cover on driver side.

Open the driver's door and look at the side of the dashboard. You'll see a funky-shaped panel on there. It has a finger-pull cutout in it. That's the fusebox cover. Pull it off and you'll see your fuses.

im not sure for different years of A4's but for mine if you open the drivers door, its behind the panel on the side of the dash.
