Good day people... My Bmw e30 320i exec is not starting... Its swinging full but not turning over... My lights were left on and my battery went super dead... Tried to kick start profusely, to no avail... I checked my pump and spark, both fine... Could it be my computer box or crank sensor?... Please help, I need my car...

Does the engine turn over? I guess yes if you get a spark. . But if not, Sometime the connections at the battery can work one second and then not in the next. Always disconnect and clean the connections and battery posts when having battery issues even if they look clean. Wipe a thin film of petroleum jelly on the metal components to hinder corrosion if you have some. You can buy a little travel tube to keep in the toobox.

SOURCE: Battery on BMW 740i keeps dieing

you need to disconnect one side of the battery, put one lead from an ampmeter on the battery post you have disconnected and the other ampmeter lead on the cable you took off the battery. with nothing turned on on the car , all doors closed the reading on the ampmeter should be no higher than 0.17 amp, if it reads a lot hgher go to the fusebox and remove one by one all the permanent supply fuses looking at the reading every time until you find the circuit that is causing the high reading, this will be the drain. alot of the time it can be central locking system playing up, boot light, glove box light not switching off, stereo wired wrong. hope this helps.

SOURCE: BMW 320i is using 5L of oil every 1000miles no

Try using an automotive dye in the oil the oil has to be going somewhere the dye should reveal the loose gasket or loose oil plug in which the leak may only occur at speed under pressure and not present when stopped

SOURCE: BMW 323i no power in the car at all, not the battery, not the alt

I had this same problem with my 94 525. Both of my battery chargers indicated battery was fully charged. I took the battery to Autozone and they said it only had 3 volts and they would charge it. They hooked up thier charger and it also said it was fully charged! They concluded the battery was bad and a new one fixed everything.

SOURCE: when should i change the cambelt on my 1990 320i

the change interval on this belt is 60,000 miles or 100,000 KM, remember this engine WILL BEND VALVES IF THE BELT BREAKS.

Getting my bmw f 650 sg ready for the road after winter, charged the battery and installed it but when I turn the ignition on I get a sickly buzzing sound, but the motor will not turn over

probably your battery cant take a full charge or has a few cells not working hook up another car so you can use jumper leads to start your car ( I am sure someone you know has them ?) that way you can get your car running etc but it is still possible that your battery can not take a full charge or is faulty under load , and should be easy to answer this question after you start it and give it a good run for a hour or two , and park it over night , if it makes the ticking sound ( this is a normal flat battery noise)when you try to start it the next day and it will not turn over the motor your battery is stuffed

Why my car is dead after sitting for 3 days. when first hooked up jumper cables the interior lights came on then went off and wouldnt even turn over

If your battery is dead after 3 days it's probably getting stuffed or else you left something on. Anyway jump starting should work regardless. How good are your jumper leads? You need a pretty heavy set to start a car not those skinny things you get at super cheap auto stores. Hook them up and start car you're jumping off and run it at a high idle for about 5 min then try and start your car. That should put a base charge into your battery and it should go. If not buy a new battery.

My 2006 BMW 5 series fails to start. Lights and gauges come on, but not even a click when turn key. tried both keys. checked battery. 4 days later tried ignition and car operated normally, starting,...

If you can catch it failing again, test for power on the small wire going to the starter solenoid while someone tries to crank it. If you have no power, check for power at starter relay and trace backwards. If you have power, you have a bad starter. They can have intermittent failures. Hopefully your starter is easy to access, some 3 series and 5 series have the starter mounted under the intake manifold and it is necessary to removed the maifold to replace or test the starter. Good luck, hope this helps.

1996 318 i se battery went flat, replaced it now it wont start, got ignition lights but wont turn over

This is not a sloution but i had a similar problem about 6months ago. I left the lights on which drained the battery, road assistant came to booost start it, there was power but no turn over, not even a clunk of the engine trying ( all electrics are working and lights in the dash are live), tried a new battery same situation,
I took it to BMW independant specialist who put it down to a ECU fault , i was duped into having a new key made as i had no spare as it was believed the immobilizer had locked the car up so to speak, this didnt work , so the mech ordered a new ecu, and had it reprogrammed and it turned over first time, It was bumpy idling at cold start cos i had my original dead battery but after a day it ran like it used to sweet as a nut.
it was expensive 500 quid to put right, but then you may have better luck with your mechanic.

1988 Oldsmobile Delta 88 (Vin "C") won't start, won't turn over

the 12 amp is for a jump start and the 2 amp is for a trickle charge which doesn't degrade the battery. i believe you have a loose connection either a loose ground cable or the positive cable to the starter check these and tighten if neccessary

My 1994 BMW 325i sedan dont want to start!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check Your Battery, o perhaps You have a power leak, The way to do that is, with the car off key out take one of the battery terminals off than on the battery nipple connection put the end of a test light, and on the terminal that You have remove the other end of the test light, if light comes on You have a power leak, to find in which circuit leaks live test light connected to both, battery and removed terminal start taking fuses on and off till lights on test light goes off, and when that happen, that's the fuse where the power leak is located
