On a car that new, still under warranty, I would think long and hard before I replaced the transmission fluid with oil of any type. I would start by calling the service department at a dealer, pay them a hundred bucks to explain your situation before you void your warranty and go a thou or two into the hole.

I changed the oil myself in my Venza but the warning lights and warning memo comes on telling me my car needs maintainence. How do I reset these lights?

  • Turn the ignition switch to the On position and ensure that the display screen is in the Trip A mode.
  • Turn the ignition switch to the Off position.
  • While pressing the TRIP switch button, turn ignition switch On. Hold the button down through the entire reset procedure.
  • The odometer indicates 000000 and then returns back to Trip A.

I have followed the recommendations for the oil change reset button--nothing happened. Any suggestions

Take it to a local oil changing place, they should reset it for free or maybe $5. saves you the headache.

Wher is the refill point for a Festiva 1996 manual transmission?

If you look at the transmission, you will find a drain plug on the bottom, look for a similar plug on the side of the transmission, take out plug and if oil is at the bottom of side plug hole, trans is full, if not refill here until oil is running out of hole, reinstall plug.
