HOW DO YOU REPLACE THE LICENSE PLATE BULB ON A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA

This, to be honest, is a bigger job than it should be. On the Quest you need to start inside the trunk.
You will need to unscrew the screws on the inside tailgate handle and remove it. Then gently lever around the edges to remove the entire cover panel from the tailgate. This will give you access to the screws (or bolts) holding the narrow outside trim panel that the light is fitted inside. Remove this trim, unscrew the small lens cover for the number plate lights and replace the bulbs.
**Don't Forget to check the bulbs work before you refit the removed trim panels.**
Clean the inside of the lens while it is off to keep the light as bright as possible.
Refit the narrow outside trim. Refit the inside trim panel, pushing the edge clips until they 'click' into place. Refit the inside handle. Close the tailgate and recheck the lights work.

There are 2 bulbs above the license plate, each under a plastic cover. The covers are held in with 2 screws each. Just unscrew and remove the plastic covers and you should be able to access the bulbs.

probably a simple fix, it could just be a matter of taking off a cover thats on the outside above the lisence plate, then replacing the bulb. if not, then you might have to take off the cover thats on the inside of the trunk (probably a felt like material like a pool table) and find where it is, then replace it from there.

Just type the correct name into the searchbox and
thats it

1. Open the hatch and stand under it.
2. Remove pull handle from the inside of the hatch (2 screws under pop panels).
3. Starting in the lower corners, gently pry the entire interior panel from the hatch,
and leave it hanging from the wiper area near the glass.
4. Grasp the bulb housing and twist to the left while pressing inward.
5. Replace with a 1156 bulb.

You'll need to push the lens housing to one side and the gently pry on it and it will pop out.. it's held in by a little metal spring (clip)

the license plate because of its position gets a lot of dirt and water problems so i would go back and take another good look remove the bulbs again and see if you can clean the inside with a little sand paper or a little scrape with a small screwdriver then spray with a little sileacone oil replace bulbs.Then switch lights on they should be ok if not try moveing them slightly with your fingers they should light.please let me know how you get on.adrian
