1993 Toyota MR2 Questions & Answers
Rear caliper replacement
you have to remove the the wheel of course and take 2 bolts out of the back of the calipers, one top and one bottom. once they are out you should be able to take it off of the rotor and just remove the brake line and e-brake and then put in the new ones in reverse order. you will have to adjust the e-bake after doing this im sure so figure out how to go about that first.
1993 toyota mr2 coil
On a 93', the coil is located inside of the distributor, not on the outside as in the 91'.
Torque settings for mr2 93
i would think the toyota one would be your best option, instead of looking it up online call up the toyota dealer and speak to someone in service, they will be able to give you the accurate settings.
I have a 1993 mr2 and need an engine loom diagram
I can help! Are you doing a N/A to turbo swap? Or just engine for engine? Mostly year for year will be the same...JDM or USDM. Depending on year...My first suggestion would be to go to Toyota and buy the 2 Big Green Books for your year. They have FULL wire diagrams amongst COUNTLESS things you will need to know. 2nd...I would go to MR2 tech .com...They have most of the pages of the BGB there. Anything you need let me know! Ive done many swaps in the 2nd gen. Good luck!
Hi ive got a 1991 mr2 turbo it seems i cant select
You need a slave cylinder and possibly a clutch kit.
Contact www.twosrus.com for parts. If this car has over 80K I would replace both and get the flywheel resurfaced and save the headaches that can creep up later on.
Having battery drain on Toyota MR2
Pull the positive cable off battery. Put a test light between the battery post and the positive cable. If there is a light you know it is draining the battery. Now pull fuses one at a time until the light goes out then you will know where the problem is. To save time make sure you glove compartment light is going off and check you trunk light.
I have had to replace
You are being ripped off.....First of all You need a new mechanic..It is dumb to actually sale you 4 alternators....First of all you should replace the battery and alternator at the same time because that is what a bad alternator does is drain the battery ! It is not worth it to try and charge a battery that has been drained by a bad alternator because it causes so much deadness in the battery you will never get it charged right because of the internal battery plates become overloaded.
If you have a new alternator go ahead and replace the battery...next find the trunk light bulb and remove the bulb for now...Keep a close eye on the vehicle ...Go out at night and look in it to make SURE that nothing is on..Listen for an electric lock noise...If you have power door locks sometimes they will work themselves just enough to drain the battery..I had a landrover do the same thing and it was the back door electric engaging and disengaging itself very quietly...I had to remove the fuse before it would stop....Or else go to the dealer and have the WCM (Wireless Control Monitor)
Updated for 150 dollars...That could be your problem...I would remove the fuse for the power door locks for now and keep a close eye on it...It solved my worrying until I can have the WCM reprogrammed...Also the theft system can drain the battery...If equipped...But that is very rare..
Try what I have stated...It may be the trunk light, ashtray light,underdashlight...Check all of these .
Finally make sure the brake lights arent staying on...If the brake light switch goes bad or sticks it will drain the battery...............Hope this helps....................Metalpoet
How do I remove the
- open the glove box,
- you will notice it moves back and fort but only to a point, look at the sides you will notice 2 cylinders mounted into the glove box running in a grove,
- pry out out of the grove, both sides,
- the glove box will now come all the way out and rock foward so you an see the back of it.
- you will notice 2 hinges bolting the glove box in place. Remove them.
- thats it your glove box is out.
