I turned on veh- went to shift gears (drive) but it would not move. is there a button to override the shifter. its poss that when I placed the veh in park it may have rolled before i put it in park. Dodge Magnum 2005
I had the same problem. The interlock was not the problem. I had the shifter replaced (at my own expense because drive train warranty would not cover). After examining the old shifter discovered source of problem is a plastic cam on the front of ths shifter. A tiny PLASTIC ear which connects to a small spring had broken off. I repaired this by putting in a small screw where the ear had been. Incidentally, my tow truck driver had also seen the same problem on several Chrysler 300s. In my estimation this is a poor design on Chrysler's part.

My 05 Dodge Magnum was recently broken into and all my stereo equipment was stolen. I want to plug the factory amp back in but do not know the location.
The factory amp is located under the steering column. Here is a pic. Good luck!

How to jump start dodge magnum, my battery is dead
It's pretty simple. In mine, there is a positive terminal under the hood with a red " " cover; this is where the positive cable goes. On the body of the car, near the positive terminal, there is a tab that sticks out (this is where the negative cable goes). Hook the cables to a good battery; wait a few minutes and start your car.

Limp mode
Limp mode can be reset as eaily as shutting off the car and restarting it. the computer will then retest the system, if the problem is gone you will not go into limp mode. but if the problem is still evident, you will have to have it repaired before it will work properly.

im driving on the fwy. and these two lights come red lightning bolt and bas lite. the car has no power in excelleration. i pull the car over and restart the engine. it runs for a while and the lights come on again. i cannot drive the car in this condition. it is really stressful. i took it to a mechanic and the check engine lite never came on. he could not even get a code out of it. again very stressful. what can i do. i am spending unnecessary money and the problem is still not fixed. help me please.
It sounds to me like you need to find a mechanic that knows what he is doing. The "Red lighning bolt" Is the electroninc throttle control (ETC) warning lamp. Your mechanic is probably not getting any codes because he is probably using a cheap generic OBD code reader that can only access continuous memory fault codes. Most of these code readers cannot access current codes, manufacturer specific codes, or read the data stream from the computer.
You should also access the OBD readiness monitors to see if any of them are showing "Not Complete". This can be a very good indication that the PCM is losing battery power intermittently. There are several things that can be tested and verified without any codes.
With all that said, you should also be aware that 2005 Dodge Magnums that fit certain VIN criteria, equipped with 2.7L engines are subject to a service campaign (voluntary manufacturer recall) for problems with the electronic throttle control systems. If you do not know if this recall has been completed already on your vehicle, I would recommend that you contact your local dealer and have them run your VIN to see if this bulletin applies to your vehicle, and if so, has the recall been completed. You might just get the thing fixed for FREE!
The Service Campaign Bulletin number is D29, Dated July 2004
Related Reference Number: RC-D29-04
Otherwise, the only other suggestion I have for you is to take it to a different mechanic. It only took me about 5 minutes to come up with the information I have posted here. Any auto tech worth his salt could have given you the same information in about as much time as this has taken me....
