Kawasaki Brute Force™ 650 4x4i. It will start and idle fine, but when you give it gas it begins to miss and backfire

Just replaced starter motor. Flywheel has all its teeth and so did the old starter motor. Fuses look good. The starter is rotating but the engine will not turn over and start. whirring noise.

check that the pinion of the starter is engaging the flywheel teeth
check that the over run clutch of the pinion is engaging and not over running when it is supposed to lock up to turn the flywheel

Why won't it start?

Check the starter to see if it is engaging the flywheel. There may be a flat spot on the flywheel so the starter cannot mesh with the teeth on the flywheel.

I have a Kawasaki Brute Force 650 2010. The maintenance free battery had no water under the seals. I know you're not suppose to refill...so do I need a new battery? Or am I ok to refill?

Get a new battery the old one should not be refilled

Why does my 650 brute force pa pa at low speed or down hill

Sounds like bad gas or water in the gas. Could be needing rebuild in the carbs. Start by trying some sea foam in your gas tank.

Kawasaki brute force runs good but engine is real noisy, tried adjusting valves but still the same thing, I don't know what else to try!

sometimes thats normal. Try thicker oil.

You will have to increase the rpm to engage belt to move.

Retell this story with an exact stage of what you do and what if anything happens.
Do you mean you press the starter button and absolutely nothing happens or is there a click of a solenoid? There are safety circuits on atv's to prevent in-gear starting etc. Are all these correctly functioning?
