I have a dean markley promag grand acoustic pick-up which connects to a plug in stap button. when i plug in there is no sound unless the volume is turned up on the amp to the max and then a very faint sound comes through. it has nothing to do with the amp as i have tried another guitar which works fine. any ideas of whats wrong and how it can be fixed.

The output of this is fairly low. Do make sure you have steel strings rather than bronze for magnetic pickups like this. Make sure this pickup is oriented per the instructions.

My Dean Dave Mustaine signature V will not produce any sound

It looks like you have 2 humbuckers (how many wires on each?), one 3 way selector and 1 volume and 2 tone controls, plus the output jack. Tell me how many wires on these humbuckers and what colors and I can help you wire it.

Issues With Dean Markley ProMag Plus Acoustic Pickup

Hope you didn't throw it out. I know this is a bit late.

Cleanly remove about an inch from the end of the cable.
Loosen screw in the jack (yeah, it's there on the side).
Put cable back in jack and push it till it won't go anymore.
Tighten screw. You need to tighten enough so screw will breach the insulation and make a ground connection.

D10sce will not work when plugged into the amp. the cord is nine ( works with my electric.) battery is new. when you turn up the volume on the controll, you can hear it in the amp, just no pick up sound.t

SUBSTITUTE Change the guitar for a friends to see if the amp is really OK. Try your guitar in a friends amp to see if the guitar is OK If the guitar is at fault its either the battery, the connection cord, the little pre amp in the guitar body (you can't fix that) or you have put nylon strings on the guitar which needs stell strings for the pickup to work. Good luck

I bought my Taylor acoustic/electric brand new. It sounds great, but when i plug it into my amp no sound comes out. I replaced the battery, but it still failed to work. When i plug it in to the amp and...

If you just bought the guitar, take it back. Taylor has good warranty programs, take it back to the dealer. You may have a bad connection inside where the saddle pick up plugs into the graphic preamp, the fact that you hear a sound when you put the battery in or out indicates very little. You may have a bad preamp, like I said, if its new, don't wait get it back to the dealer or contact Taylor.
