Hello... I'm kinda new to all this, so please bare with me! I recently purchased a used Orion Skyview 6 Deluxe EQ. The scope is in great shape and things look great through it. However, it did not come with a Correct Image Diagonal....so I purchased one. (The Orion Correct-Image Diagonal 1.25") Now, with that in place, I can't get ANYTHING in focus! Is it not the correct diagonal for the scope? The folks at Orion sent it to me and said it was the right one. Am I not installing it correctly? I'm putting it in the only way that it appears it would fit. Help!!! I was really hoping to look at stuff....right side up soon! Thank you!

First WHY would you use a erecting DIAGONAL in a reflector style telescope. Upside down images are completely normal for an astronomical telescope. You only need this diagonal for terrestrial viewing NOT for star gazing. ALL astronomical telescopes show upside down and or inverted images- it's completely normal.

If you cannot come to focus with the erecting diagonal, it's probably because the diagonal moves the eyepiece too far OUT away from the point where the scope comes to focus. Again-- you do not use those for night time sky viewing. Just stick the eyepiece directly into the focuser.

Could i convert my c8 to a go to computer and what would be involved

No, sorry the old C8 cannot be converted.

You might consider selling the C8 and upgrading to a more recent goto scope, OR deforking the tube, and mounting it on a GOTO mount like the alt az Ioptron Pro, or an EQ mount like this one:

here is the Ioptron:

Replace Eyepiece on Saturn F-900 Model 60EQ

You need an eyepiece This scope uses .965in eyepieces. you can find them on Ebay. Maximum magnification is 100x NOT 420x. These scopes have inferior optics and terrible mounts. Don't spend much on this scope. Buy a 20mm (35x magnification) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Astro-Optics-20mm-965-Telescope-Eyepiece-NEW-/230688144635?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35b615bcfb or a 15mm (45x magnification) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Astro-Optics-20mm-965-Telescope-Eyepiece-NEW-/230688144635?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35b615bcfb on Ebay If you are interested in astronomy, you need to spend some money on a good scope. Check out Orion for a great tabletop dob for $100 http://www.telescope.com/Telescopes/Dobsonian-Telescopes/Mini-Dobsonians/Orion-SkyScanner-100mm-TableTop-Reflector-Telescope/pc/1/c/12/sc/28/p/9541.uts
