How many HDMI Inputs are available on the TV? Also, are you trying to project your computer to the TV or get TV on your PC?
I will assume the first scenario. The only thing I can suggest is that if there are multiple HDMI inputs then you will need to choose the correct one to change it to. If it does not give you that option on the TV input switcher menu then you can try to plug and unplug (while everything is on and attempting to project) the HDMI cable into different inputs on the TV until you find the right one.
Alternatively you can use a VGA/DVI cable depending what is on the back of the TV and that will definately work, but won't be HD.
Hope this helps.

Sony KDL-40NX711 HDMI PORTS STOPPED WORKING. EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS FINE. WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS TO HAPPEN?

Sounds like everything works. Your remote has an input menu. Have you cycled it around to the right component? i.e. HDMI1 or HDMI2, or DVD, even PC?
If not, try that.

Make sure that the DVD player is connected into the correct inputs on the receiver and that the receiver also has the correct input selected to play. If your TV also has component video inputs it is best to connect the player directly to the TV. Otherwise, make sure you have the TV connected to the receiver via component video out.

Insignia DVD Player, Insignia TV, HDMI connection doesn't work

well a good hdmi cable should cost you over 100 dollars, so try a new cable. even though it looks like the cable is fine, it can be no good.

HDMI->DVI cable won't work

Are you using a HDMI to DVI cable or are you using a HDMI to DVI adapter? Sometimes, though not on all products you have to go into the menu and select which out put your using for each source and whats going through it. You might need to go into your dvd player menu and tell it not to try to run audio through the cable. That way it's not trying to force a signal through the cable that cant be accepted by the TV. That might possible solve your problem for the DVD player. Let me know if it works

Toshiba hdmi ports not working

I talked to Toshiba about his problem, this morning. They said they have never hear of such an issue. I told them the TV was less than 1 week old, and would hope Toshiba would do something in response to my alternative action of returning both my Toshiba HD DVD and 52LX177 for a new brand. They said all they can do is have me go to a service center for them to repair it. 1 week old TV and DVD, $4000, for repair; I don't think so. I talked to two different people a Toshiba regarding this, with the same answer. Very poor customer support, especially for a higher end product like this. I think I have no choice but to change brands.

Blue screen with HDMI

Check the power supply modular cable connection that is by itself in the upper right corner.  On the one my son-in-law has the double yellow jumper wire that connects to this plug in two locations was loose (not properly inserted) in the modular connector and had worked it way out.
