Your camera records in two modes: SP and LP modes. SP is a higher quality mode that runs for about 60 minutes, while LP records for 90.
To change to LP mode, open the menu and select [VCR setup]. Select [REC MODE], set it to [LP] and close the menu.
Keep in mind that your video and audio will be of noticeably lower quality with this setting applied.

Expand video duration ?

You should be able to record up to about 30 minutes in a single clip, assuming your memory card is large enough. A 16GB card will hold about an hour of full HD video or over 40 hours at the lowest resolution.
The 30 minute limit is on the length of a single clip. You can stop one clip and then start a new one. How often do you see a single continuous clip lasting more than a few minutes in a Hollywood movie?

How to do 'timer' recording for 4or 5 hours instead of 'title' recording on 922 sling DVR?

bigelow100

The 922 receiver does not have the Time Based feature (Any program in the specified time frame will be recorded, regardless of name). You can setup timers with start early (up to 60 minutes) and end late (up to 90 minutes) for a/all timers. This would give you a 2 1/2 hour window plus the time for the program you want to record. I hope this helps.

Diamond VC500 One Touch Capture not recording properly.

Try turning off your screen saver. The recorded file will reset to zero whenever the screen saver kicks in.

I have recorded a TV programme to the Hard Drive. However - I started recording manually and forgot to stop recording. So I have a recording 30 hours long! I want to copy the first 90 minutes to a DVD....

I used the edit function. I fast forwarded to the end of the section I wanted to record. I then stop the fast forward and used the split function. This split the original recording into two parts - the first 1hr 38min which I wanted to keep and the rest. It saved as two files and I was able to copy the first part to DVD and discard the rest.

I try to record and in a few minutes I will get a message "memory full". I know it could not be because it was hardly on. There is nothing on it either. Can you help me? (VuPoint DV-DM1_VP)

The camera comes with only 32mb internal memory. In high resolution that will get you about 4 minutes of video if you're lucky. You need to install an SD card of up to 1GB. 1GB in low resolution will give you 5 hours of recording, high resolution about 90 minutes. When you first turn on your camera, there is a counter in the top right of the screen which tells you how many HH:MM:SS you have left in memory.

Limited recording time

WS-100: 64 MB
HQ mode: Approx. 4 hours 20 minutes
SP mode: Approx. 8 hours 40 minutes
LP mode: Approx. 27 hours 20 minutes

You can go to the menu of the device and change the recording mode from HQ to SP to get longer recording time. Page 7 of the instructions explains how to change this.

Is there a better (brand) tape to use with a Elura 90? I read somewhere that certain tapes had more problems than others. Thanks, Joe

One thing that can change the tape quality is making sure you are using th 60 minute recording mode vs the 90 minute EP recording mode. If you record alot, you should clean the tape heads every 6 months as well. I haven't really found any bad tapes out there (I'm sure there are some). Usually Sony and JVC are good choices to use.
