My n96 16gb wont charge but battery charges in another phone

Try a different charger if still no charging then replace phone battery

Cell phone batteries have what is called a "memory" over time if they are charged without being fully drained they can start to not hold a charge. Unfortunetly the only fix for an issue like yours is to purchase a new battery. Your local retailer / service provider should have batteries in stock or they can order one for you.
It is recommended to allow the batteries to drain completely before charging, then allow at least 8 hours or more to fully charge. Most cell phone will show a full charge after a few hours, but this is more a fault with the software that check the batteries charge, then an actual indication of the battery being fully charged.

You have mentioned the you have bought a new charger and a new battery but still your handset wont charge.

The problem is from the charging port on your phone. You will need to change or replace the charging port on your phone to fix the problem.

Try to take your phone to any Sanyo service center or any local phone repairer to help you replace the charging port, it has a minimum charge only.

you can see if ebay have a broken phone like yours and you can use the parts off the phone you buy from ebay to replace the one in your phone.

Since the battery and charger are new and yet it does not still hold charge.

Have put the battery in another similar phone and try to charge with your charger to see if it will hold charge? if you have.

It means the charging port of your phone is bad and you will need to replace it.

The charger is not charging the battery in anyway because the charging port is bad, so just change your charging port, your phone will now hold charge.

steps... 1) check by using another charger...if it gets charged then change ur charger.. 2)if its not getting charge then replace the battery and then try charging...if its again not working then battery problem..change it 3)if the battery s in proper condition then the problem s with the phone charging socket..change it for cost!!!!!!!!

try the old battery if you still have it then see if it holds a slight bit more once charged.If it does then go back to the seller of the new battery for a replacement.

They second thing is you can get an external battery charger for the razor. They run about 5 dollars and allow you to charge the battery seperate from the phone.

it might be the battery. cause batteries on cell phones only last for so long [depending on how long you've had it] or you might just have a bad phone. go to the phone company where your phone is from, and tell them about it, and they'll probably give you a new phone.
