My other computer, G4 Macbook Pro, has a screen issue. When it is turned on and in process of coming up, the screen shows large sections of odd colors such as light pink or light green or light blue. Then it changes to other large blocks of single colors and sometimes odd horizontal lines, then it finally comes on as normal. Is the screen or motherboard or ? going out? Is there a simpler explanation?

Connect an external display to the computer. If the lines and distortion shows up on the external display its the video card, which is attached to the logic board. So, the whole logic board will need to be replaced.
If the lines and distortion don't show up on the external display the issue is the LCD module, which will need to be replaced.

2006 Macbook Pro replacement screen problems

You have a bad driver. Reinstall your screen driver or clear your P ram by holding the letters P and R and the control button when you boot your laptop. Hold them until it chimes and reboots.

Does apple poewerbook g4 have webcam installed

No. You gots to get a Macbook or MacBook Pro for the built in web cam.
You can buy a Mac Ally web cam and clip it on the top of the powerbook for a web cam, but it looks odd in contrast to the stream lined architecture of the Power Book.

MacBook won't recognize my Lacie Rugged Hard Disk. Disk utility will see it but won't verify it nor will it repair it. says it needs to be reformatted yet it won't even let me initialize it. it is brand...

Is your MacBook as fast as the Lacie Rugged Hard Disk is?

Because solid state drive wasn't available on MacBook Pro at the initial time when it launched. Hard drives on all current Apple laptops are equipped with Sudden Motion Sensor technology. In fact, the Apple laptops that came with Sudden Motion Sensor are: All Intel-based Apple portables such as the MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, PowerBook G4 computers starting with PowerBook G4 (12-inch 1.5GHz), PowerBook G4 (15-inch 1.67/1.5GHz), PowerBook G4 (17-inch 1.67GHz), and iBook G4 computers starting with iBook G4 (Mid 2005) have Sudden Motion Sensor technology. You MacBook may not have come with that technology that could be the reason you are unable to connect it.

Can I use an Apple M7649 Studio Display with a MacBook Pro

Do you have the black unibody Macbook Pro that was just released, or the silver model?

Since the display is DVI, it will directly hook up to the silver model. If you have the new model, you need a mini DVI to DVI adapter.
