My daughter puked all over her car seat and I need to wash the cover. The instructions say I have to remove the base and the harness to get the cover off....I can't for the life of me get the base off! The instructions are unclear, and it doesn't make sense that the bar that reclines the seat can just slide out like the instructions say. Please help!

I imagine you've already fixed this problem by now. I have two of these car seats and it took me the longest time to figure it out. If you still need help, let me know. You're right, the instructions aren't as easy as they seem.

I took the cover off for washing. Need instructions to put back on

You should be able to download the instruction for this model from this site
Instruction Manuals

You will have to remove the buckle loop holding the harness at the back of the seat and release the straps. Once you insert these through the seat cover and back into the slot on the seat back you can lock the harness by re-inserting he buckle loops.

I really need to take the straps off our maxicosi cabriofix car seat, taking the cover off has never been a problem but i cant work out how to remove the shoulderstraps

Hi Emily - You should never remove the harness from the carseat due to the safety implications of the harness being incorrectly refitted. To wash the harness straps please remove the fabric only and wash the harness in situ using a warm water solution with lemon juice and bicarbonate of soda to clean it up .

No problem with harness but what about the extras?

I had the same problem. The elastic loops loop forward, under the car seat handle, and attach to the plastic clips. You can get an idea of how it should go from page 13 of Graco's instruction manual (http://www.gracobaby.com/Instruction%20Manuals/ISPC090BB.pdf).

This may not be the instruction manual for your exact model--you can find your model number on a sticker under the base. However, the instruction manual for my model didn't include information about putting the seat cover back on after removing it to wash--the instruction manual I linked to above does.

Someone removed all harness from my Cosco, Summit car seat. I cannot figure out how to get them attached and will not do it without knowing I have done it safely. Help!

My daughter has a car seat just like this one, and I wash it about once a month so I hope I can explain this detailed. First, at the base there is a metal rod that will need removed. When you take this rod out the base and seat will seperate. Set base aside and turn seat upside down. Take your strap and put an end into each slot. Turn seat over and pull your straps even. Put the two black pieces for your latch on (one on each side) then put you chest pieces on and run straps thru slots on back of seat. Turn seat around and make sure the straps go OVER the silver bar in back (this allows you to adjust shoulder height) Secure to the metal piece that runs to front for tightening adjustment. Sey seat back on base and replace rod. Hope this was helpful.

Removing the seat cover from base

Have you removed the harness?

Once the harness is removed, you pull the top of the back seat down and back at the same time, and the back should be removed.

Can you post the model number from the bottom of the seat if those instructions don't hurt?

Car seat cover

You should definitely check your owners manual. Different seats require different things to be removed (like the harness). If you can't find yours, you should be able to find one online by searching Google.

How do i get the seat of to wash?

I was able to find an online instruction manual for this stroller. From that manual, I was able to find the following instructions for removing the seat for cleaning.

"10 REMOVING AND REFITTING THE SEAT COVER
Remove hood from stroller if fitted.
A Twist shoulder strap end buckles and feed through holes.
B Feed waist and crotch straps through holes.
C Unclip seat cover retaining straps.
D Unfasten seat fabric from handle tubes and seat base.
E Slide fabric from seat back and base.
F When refitting seat fabric, insert seat back support tubes
into fabric slits.
G When refitting seat fabric to seat base, loop fabric flap over legrest
strap and pass crotch strap buckle through both holes in seat fabric
and then hole in seat base.
H When refitting shoulder straps, twist buckles and feed through holes."

Model 22-862-wby

theres a steel rod holding the seat to the base. you have to remove it by pushing from the left and pressing the plastic tab on the right. Once the rod is removed the seat comes off the base. To take the cover off press the plastic inserts through which the belt passes from the other sides using a plier. Two of them are at the back and two at the bottom. Once this is done remove the elastic strings holding the cover to the seat and remove the belts.
