My Nokia 6131 has stopped ringing - it just vibrates when there is a call/text. I haven't done anything different. It's not on silent and I've tried resetting to factory defaults. Any suggestions?

try to reset/configure the silent profile manually, in some phone silent profile mean only light no sound/vib/or tone. you can change it from manually configured (personalise in NOKIA)

That is a great phone.
The nokia menu system is confusing - when you change from 'silent' to 'normal' to 'outdoor' or any other setting, the entire ring profile changes.
I think what you have done is switch profile to a setting where the vibrate is not set to on.
simply go into the menu, select vibrate, and turn setting ON.
be aware that if you change from this setting, it may go OFF again.

i hope your problem solved..

1. Try to make sure it is not on vibrate or silent.(usually indicated by an icon of a shaking phone at the top right of the screen) It can usually be turned on and off by holding down the star button.

2. Make sure you have your volume up.

3. Change your profile. Usually there are different profiles on phones for different places, i.e outdoor, silent, vibrate, etc... It can probably be found in the settings under something like audio, ringtones, profiles, etc.

4. The phone may just be deffective. I would suggest if after trying the above it doesnt work, to contact either your phones manufacturer or your cellular service provider. They may be able to help.

Go to the same place that you go to to put it on vibrate and scroll down to set ring tones/alerts and sms text and change the settings the volume should be set to silent.

You probably have silent mode on. Try pressing and holding the pound or the star key. One of those will probably release silent mode, so that whatever ring setting you have can be used.

HI SIR.  please cheak whether the profile in the general mode.. and keep it in the ring mode.. if also it does't work mean's. u need to restore the factory setting's..   step for setting's..   1. menu>tool>setings>phone>general>restore factor settings>it ask's for thr passward. general passward is 12345 or ur security code..what have u given.. it will restart .. and u will seen it will be ringing . if any doubt assist me.. i am there .. thank u..   please rate it.

have u tried manually going into your settings in your phone and selecting settings and profile and selecting another profile but silent? only suggesting.

1. go to contact list and edit contact then select assign tone and select tone according to ur choice, but take care of selected profile.
