I have a Magnavox 42MF439B LCD TV. It was working great but recently stopped accepting auxiliary inputs. I'm certain I have a good video source and cables. The cable input still works great. I tried both HDMI and Video inputs. The screen is totally black. Audio works for the Video inputs but not with HDMI. I was wondering how to restore the factory settings. Thanks for any suggestions..... Tom Spencer

Similar model Phillips tv made by foreign manufacturer for both Phillips and Magnavox may help you. Apparently very similar tv sets, so manual should be of assistance to you, although phone contact is for Phillips and not Magnavox.
With a Cable company box connected, that company may provide internet service to you if that is what you paid for.
if you dont have plugs in the back or front or sides of any tv. theres only coax input or outputs. if you have plugs make sure all the colors match on the inputs of the tv and the out puts of the vhs. if no plugs. use the output coax cable from the vhs an plug it into the input of the tv. select the right input an you should be good.
do you have inputs on the rear? if so there must be a button or selection method - do you have a "aux" button?. If connecting by Scart or HDMI it may auto sense it and switch to the auxiliary (aux) input automatically
First thing you can try is:
1. Unplug it from the power cord and wait a few minutes.
2. Turn it on (when it's still unplugged from power)
3. Plug it in power and try to turn it on again

First, is the DVD player output (Video out, audio out) connected to the TV input?
Have you used the Yellow cable from DVD video out to the TV video in? Mixing the audio and video cables will result in no signal.
Have you selected the proper input with your TV remote control. Most plasmas accept a variety of input signals; you must select the right one.
I deal with a number of these issues. Usually the connections are made improperly or the correct input source is not selected with the TV remote.
Put a DVD in the player and press play. Be sure you have made the proper connection from DVD player video/audio out into an auxiliary or video input on the TV. These could be labeled Line 1 or Line 2. With the DVD playing, run through the input options on your remote control. The button might be marked source, video or input. The screen should display your choices i.e. video 1, video 2, etc. When you see your DVD program, you've got the right combination.
You can get a device that is an A/V to RF converter. They an cost about $25 and up to a lot of money depending on the quality you want. Many of the audio video stores sell these converters.
With the converter, you connect the A/V from your source in to it, and then connect the converter to the antenna connection of the set. Put the TV on to the channel that the converter instructions ask.
