AOS 7135 - after a routine cleaning, it no longer sprays mist. the motor runs, the display lights up normally, but no mist comes out. actually when i first turned it on after the cleaning, it read 77% humidity so I wondered if I got water into the sensors or something and if that was why it wasn't misting. but now it is reading a more normal 25%-ish humidity and still no mist. :-( i have emptied the base out comepletely and let it dry out then refilled it, but no change. motor runs, but no mist. do you have any ideas?

I am having the exact same issue. Have you had any luck fixing the problem?

  • Anonymous Feb 05, 2011

I'm having the same problem also. If I take off the nozzle and look down the tube to the membrane I can see the water bubbling like it's trying to vibrate it into mist but just not getting there. My unit is just over a year old and has been cleaned regularly (at least once a month) during the ~4 months a year I need to use it here. Anyone have any suggestions?

My fan turns on, my filter is saturated with water but no water is expelled where normally there would be a mist to humidify.

All question need full 'make model (what it is)' to answer efficiently.

Some actually spay a mist of water, but the better one suck dry air in and blow moister air out through the saturated filter membrane.

The ones that spray water mist damage furniture and anything near it. If it is the spray type, it needs descaling.

Flashing red flight

Its probably the cleaning light that comes on periodically to remind you to clean the unit. Shut off the unit AND when you do so hold down the power button for several seconds until the flashing red light shuts off. The cleaning light should stay off until the next cleaning is due.

Per the Air-O-Swiss FAQ:

Q: Cleaning light is flashing (AOS U650, AOS 7135, AOS 7142, AOS 7144, AOS 7147)
A: Switch the unit OFF and unplug it. Empty the water in the base. Rinse the base with hot/clean water. Do not submerge the base! Visually inspect the base for dirt or mineral build up. If soft water is used decalcifying the unit every 4 weeks with EZ Cal is suggested. If hard water is used the unit should be decalcified every 2 weeks. Do not forget to reset the clean light after resetting the unit.

Q: Reset cleaning light (AOS U650, AOS 7135, AOS 7142, AOS 7144, AOS 7147)
A: The cleaning light does not automatically reset. Hold down the power button (button A in instruction manual) until the light stops flashing. The light automatically comes on approximately 14 days after plugging in the unit.

Where does the silver ion stick go into the unit AOS 7135

In the base on the side opposite of the membrane - see pg 13 of the manual for a picture showing where it belongs.

How to clean air-o-swiss humidifier?

Gererally according to the booklet in the box.
If you no longer have those instructions, simply clean out the
basin, make sure no mold, dust, hardwater or calcium is deposited.
Use a 10% bleach water solution to kill bacteria, and thats is basically it.
Just dont miss any spots, but humdifiers should be cleaned every few uses.

I have air-o-swiss humidifier. Recently I cleaned it. Its motor appears to be working after that but the mist is not coming out. Any clues?

When you cleaned it , did you remove water level sensor? If so did you put it back in upside down? The sensor is a plastic cylinder that is held down by a screw and washer.. If you have it in upside down, the empty water red light will be lit,,, if you unscrew the sensor and flip it .. it should start to work again..
