Wonder no more, there are many others with many different brand of amps that do this. Obviously it needs repair unlless you have a problem with the cable or source you are using or have forgot to turn up the gain controls which I am sure you have checked. There are so many possibilities that there is no way we can say open it and replace this... If you get a small pop in the speaker when you turn it off, then the power portion of the amp is probably OK. A common probllem on amps that have a preamp out or power amp input jacks is a failure of the switch contacts on the crummy jacks that pass the audio through from teh preamp to the power amp...

Peavey problems

It is impedance that matters. You can connect 1000w speakers at 1 watt amplifier as long as impedance (Ohms) is correct. You can not frie speakers with low power. It is the same as turning volume down (even to zero?).If it worked for some time then problem is in mixer itself and would have happened anyway. Could be just blown fuse or something. Does it show any "sign of life" ? LEDs etc?

Peavey tnt 115 blowing fuses

your either overloading something cause that's what pops fuses. My guess is that what your plugging in or into has a ground issue. I'm wondering if it does it with nothing plugged in at all. I would say if you have nothing in and it does it, you need to find where the ground issue is. that's my best guess

Behringer xenyx 2222fx turns off and on continuously after 15min of operation

More than likely, something has happened to the internal pathways to make it become unstable.

Have you tried unplugging EVERYTHING from the board? If not, try that, and just watch what it does with nothing but the power cord connected to it.

If unit still click off/on, then it probably needs service. I'm not so sure this is worth tackling yourself, unless you're willing to risk losing it altogether. Might be fun just to see what happens though. Good luck.

Play mac through Fender Frontman amp

Simple: connect the headphones out (3.5mm jack) to the input jack of your fender (6.3 jack). By doing this you will loose one channel so you better generate a mono signal inside your computer before. Electrically this is no problem, nothing will be damaged. Turn the gain and volume knobs down and apply a signal from your Mac. Gently increase gain and volume. Et voila wonderful mono sound through a guitar amp

During a gig yesterday I played my first song with no problems from my amp (JMD100 with a Ma412) but when I switched channels I got no sound and nothing worked after that so I used another amp. When I got...

Something similar happened to me a while back,

Check your fuses, some amps have 2 fuses on the back and it sounds like your second one might be blown.

If its not that, then it is probably the amp module and you will probably have to take it for repairs. Be careful if you open it up yourself, sometimes the amps can hold residual charge and there is a danger of getting zapped.

Hope this helps!

Hi , I wonder if you could shed some light on a problem my son has with his behringer pmh3000 amp. With the digital effects set to any number it constantly reverts to 1. Also when effects are turned on...

You say lights flash? There are a lot of LED's on the unit and there are displays. Depending on what you mean by "lights" sends us on a whole different path. Remeber the effects ADD to the noise as they add into the buss to the amps. You should have the Effect to MAIN knobs not too high... say 12 o'clock. Same for the effect send knobs for the channels. If all the LED's flash, better stop using the unit as there is a power supply problem and damage will occur.
Please read my tip on here about the hazard of Channel A output when using Speakon to 1/4 inch speaker cables or adapters. The SHELL or SLEEVE of channel A cable is the HOT one, NOT the tip so never let that shell touch or connect to ground. The effect window when first powered should display a zero, not one... If it displays 1 at first, unit needs to be taken for repair as there is a defect.

Connect ALL interconnected equipment to the same receptacle or power conditioner source. Pro's run extension cord back to mixer if they have other stuff on stage. The speaker cables should connect to NOTHING other than speakers... do NOT try to tap off the daisy chain outputs of speakers for anything other than speakers. Use balanced lines and isolating DI boxes to avoid ground loops. Make sure to only poower this from a grounded receptacle.

Hey, the clean channel on my Marshall 250dfx Combo amp isnt working the distortion and everything is working as normal, but the clean channel makes no sound at all, i was wondering if you can help?

The switching is done electronically by an analog gate chip. On IC9, check if the signal on pin 8 changes with switching between clean and OD... This is the actual signal that changes the gate. If you don't see a change there of say 5 volts, then the problem is in the circuits that drive this gate. If the signal is there, then the problem is in the clean channel audio op amps or the components around them. Let me know the results of the test.

The pick-up on my Ibanez Gio (brand new) keeps

The problem is likely a switch.

HOWEVER I found one that had intermittent like yours that was caused by a terminal on one of the pots touching the wood inside the cutout where the pots are.

HINT the black paint is purposely conductive as an electrical shield and is tied to ground. It is called "Aqua-Dag"

This can be a frustrating problem due to the intermittent failures that never fail in the shop... The problem is if you are under warranty, you would void the warranty by opening it yourself.

If they can't find anything, see if turning the pots to the ends with a bit of force cause the problem to occur. SOMETIMES the pots MAY turn just a bit so a terminal contacts the paint.
