Hello,
If your monitor is going in Power save mode it can be cause by following reasons.
>Check the data cable going from monitor to your Dell Dimension 4600 Tower is connected properly. The connector will be blue or white in colour.
>If the Dell Dimension 4600 Tower is powering on.

If still in power save mode then try to shutdown Tower and monitor, disconnect power cable from tower and monitor.Hold the power button on tower for 15 seconds. Then again try to connect monitor and check,if still nogo, and if tower has no lights then issue with motherboard or video card or power supply. If possible try connect spare known good monitor.

Thankyou

I have a Dell Dimension e521 desktop that has gone into energy save mode after I ran Norton security check.. Pressing any key or clicking the mouse doesn't do anything. The screen is black and says...

you may find you have the screen resolution set to high, try changing to 1024x768 and try again. if this works it means your monitor ain't up to the job of your better machines.

Have a Dell E228WFP monitor keeps going into power save mode.

does it go into power save mode with your actually doing something. Like for instance if your typing does it go into power save mode? If its going into power save mode when your not doing anything on it then its as simple as a setting either on the monitor itself or in the power settings within your computer accessible by the control panel and screensaver

My desktop monitor direct go in power save mode.so please solve it as soon as possible its urgent

power save mode indicates no input signal. Check the input signal with a known good monitor. if the signal is good then dell monitor is faulty. Power cycle (unplug the power then plug it back in) the monitor to reset to factory and if it still goes directly into power save mode the unit is faulty.

How do i turn off power save mode using the screen buttons

I don't know if there is a monitor with a function button to turn off the power save mode.
As far as I know the power save mode of the monitor can be found in the display setting of the windows..

Anyway... If you want to turn off the power save mode of the monitor via windows display setting then here is what you need to do:

On control panel, double click display settings.. click the screen saver tab... on the lower portion Press the "power" button.. Select power schemes tab.. Change the settings of" turn the monitor off" to "never"
Click apply and then OK..

Hope it gave you an idea..
Much appreciated if you rate this help...thanks..

My monitor shuts down after one second.

Dell monitors automatically go into power-save mode after a preset amount of time when the computer is inactive. The Dell monitor will go completely black, instead of showing a screensaver. This doesn't mean that your Dell computermag-glass_10x10.gif has shut down. Instead, this allows your monitor to essentially turn off until it's needed again. You can change how long it is before the Dell monitor goes into power-save mode by changing your display settings.
  1. Step 1 Press any key on your keyboard or move your mouse. Either will turn off power-save mode. Alternately, you can press the power button on your Dell computer tower or laptop.
  2. Step 2 Press any key a second time if the monitor goes from power-save to stand-by mode. Stand-by mode allows the screensaver to appear.
  3. Step 3 Enter your user name and password into the login prompt if your computer requires a login. Press "Enter" to begin using your Dell computer.
  4. Step 4 Change the display settings on your Dell monitor to prevent your monitor from going into power-save mode prematurely. Right-click anywhere on your desktop and choose "Properties." Click the "Screensaver" tab and press "Power." Beside "Turn off Monitor," choose a time amount from the drop-down list and press "Apply."

Restart the computer and turn off power save mode. If this is vista the power save mode has a lot of problems and can cause things like this to happen.

Techguru2009: First thing disconnect the monitor and start your computer. Then connect the monitor, can you see your operating system? You need to check your bios settings for power save mode. you might need to reset the bios. You can open your case and remove the battery for ten minutes or if you can load the bios setup reset the default settings. Hope this helps.

My desktop pc has gone into power save mode

Turn the whole pc off then back on. If the LCD stays in power save then I would try a diffrent monitor on the PC. If that fixes it the the monitor is probably stuck in power save. Check www.lcdrpair.us for parts and instructions.
