How do I remove links from an Adidas Candy Wrist watch?

There are arrows on the back of the strap. I have tried pushing the pin in the links but they don't move. It looks like it could be a screw. Do I need a screwdriver and how do I get one small enough to fit?

You can't. You must be referring to a different watch because the Candy Watches have a polyurethane strap as shown here:

How do I remove a link from the Stauer Colossus Hybrid Chronograph

Removing a link from the wrist band of the Stauer Colossus watch is a task that requires some mechanical talent. The links are held together with pins. These pins need to be pushed out. I strongly recommend the purchase of a "Watch Band Link Pin Remover" (got mine on eBay for $7). Prepared with this tool, the steps are as follows.

a) Separate the wrist band at the position where the strap and latch are held together. Careful! This pin is spring loaded.
b) The links that can be removed are marked with an arrow on the interior side. The pin should be removed in the direction indicated by the arrow.
c) With the previously mentioned tool you will be able to perform the hardest part, namely push out the pin by 3/16". In the image below note how the pushed out pin goes into the groove of the tool.

d) Use a small screwdriver or a punch with diameter of less than 0.07" (or 1.8 mm) in order to push out the pin completely (see second picture).
The push pin of the tool can be reversed which is helpful for re-assembly. I recommend smoothing the one end of the pin with a small file or sandpaper. This way the pin enters easily into the hole of the lower section. Else you run the danger of bending the link if the pin is not correctly positioned and you apply too much force.

How do yu remove raymond weil watch strap pins?

It depends on the strap as there are several different types.
But I suspect the one you have has pins that go through the whole metal wrist band.
You need a special tool that pushes out the pin, these normally only come out in one direction.
There should be very small direction arrows on the back of the strap if that is the case.
When putting them back in again they must go in the correct direction.
Look on ebay for wrist watch strap removal tool, looks like a mini vice with a small handle and pin pusher the other end.

Remove links

  • Wrap the watch band around your wrist to determine how many links need to be removed for the watch to fit properly.
  • 2 Place the watch face-down on a flat surface.
  • 3 Look on the back of the watch band. You will find an arrow that indicates which direction you should push the pins to remove the links.
  • Find the point at which the extra links need to be removed for your watch to fit your wrist. Using a 1 mm flathead screwdriver (or the edge of one side of a pair of tweezers), push the pins in the direction indicated by the arrows.
  • Finish removing the pins with your pliers.
  • Keep the extra links in case you ever need extra room on your watch band.

How to shortend the metal band

On most brands, there are pins that form hinges for the links of strap. You need to push them out. usually you would find arrows marked from inside of the metal bracelet which show you the direction in which to remove the pins. You can remove it if you have a small watch maker's screwdriver but you have to be careful. or get one of these ..

which should help you to remove the link pins safely without scratching.

Remove a link from an armitron ladies watchband model 6P29

More than 90% of Fossil's watches utilize pins that push out.  You can determine whether or not it pushes out by checking if there is an arrow on the back of the link.  If there is an arrow, you should push the link out in the direction of the arrow.  Usually, the link needs to be pushed at least 25% of the way out before it will be loose enough to pull out.  I suggest using pliers and be sure you pull straight out or you risk damaging the pin.  Be sure to watch for a small tube or 'sleeve' that may be in the link.

    Watch band sizing

    OK, I make an attempt:

I saw on other pictures on the web that the links have small holes at the side. There should be some links with arrows r another marking. These are usually the links that can be removed to shorten the strap.

If there is a small arrow on the link, it means that you can push out the pin inside the hole in the direction of the arrow. Then the link can be detached.
You can push it out with a blunt sewing needle (break off the tip).

Remove links on both sides of the watch when resizing it.

    Hope that helps.

I just bought a fossil watch ch2331 and need to remove a link. how do i do it?

Some of the links are removable on this watch & some are not. Look inside the band you should see some tiny arrows on the removeable links. You need to push the pin through in the direction of the arrows & remove the link. Then to put the band back together you need push the pin through in the opposite direction of the arrow. Make sure the widest part to the pin goes in last or it won't fit.

    Removing links

It?s very tough to remove the links, I would recommend taking it to a dealer If you have to, you will either need a fine punch (or very masonry nail), a medium hammer, and a piece of wood a couple of inches square, a rag or wash cloth. A sturdy flat blade watch makers screwdriver. The ones from a dollar store may not work, and a pair of pliers. There are two types of links, both of them are a pig to remove, expect lost fingers, lots of swearing and possible scratched strap. Version one, The one I think you have, Place the watch strap flat on something hard, put a cloth under it so it will not mark, the outside of the strap will be on the cloth and you will see the arrow, there is a rectangle with a nipple recessed inside. Place the blade of the screwdriver between the nipple and the edge of the rectangle, press down and wiggle between the nipple and the edge and twist, there will be a locking pin which comes out of the side link, in the direction of the arrow. Wiggle away until you can free the locking pin. It?s simpler to put them back. Version two, Place the rag folded a couple of times on the block of wood Place the strap on the rag so it?s on it?s side, hang the watch over the edge of the block so the strap is flat against the block and there is nothing touching the watch (hanging in air) Look at the edge of the strap, see the small pin, in the fold of the metal, punch it out (down into the cloth) enough to then grab it with the pliers, I actually drilled a small hole in the block of wood so the pin would be pushed into that rather than against the wood, but don?t drill holes in your dining table! I would still recommend taking it to a dealer,
