When powered-on, and *NOT* connected to a computer, most ThinkVision LCD monitors will flash, for a few seconds, the IBM ThinkVision "logo", before going into "power-saving" mode. If you don't see that, then it's time to spend about $120, and buy a new 19" (not 17") LCD monitor.
Hello,
I have the same problem on a IBM L170, I add a photo of the suspected caps, it is 1000uf caps but 16v, do you think 25v it's better ?And could you confirm me that's it's the bad caps (the big blue, it's the only seems like a little mushroom ?
this one can replace it ? here
Thank's fo your help
Sounds to me your high voltage powersupply is out. To repair open monitor and remove high voltage powersupply. Inspect the caps on the board. Look for the ends of the caps to be mushroomed out. Replace these caps, usally 470 uf caps. Replace with 25volt caps. Might also be some 1000uf caps as well. This is a common problem with all LCD monitors.
