Color's aren't true; red & green washed out

Hi.

I just replaced the lamp in my PT-40LC12, as it was getting dim and the replacement warning came up. I thought that would fix all the visual problems, but I still have no strong reds or greens - for instance, watching southpark, kyle's orange jacket and green gloves/hat look the same brownish color. It's all brighter, but still looks like garbage - any ideas as to what this could be?

Thanks!

TV will not turn on just green blinking light

If you paid a low price like $20 to $60 for the lamp it may not be an original replacement and may have failed.
But another thing it could be is to check the lamp cooling fan(s) where you might have to take some of the TV apart to do it.
If they have lots of caked on dust it would kill a lamp due
to inefficient cooling.

I just replaced the lamp on my Panasonic PT-40LC12 TV. How do I reset the timer and make the red light go off?

what you need to do is have your remote handy and go up to the tv. Hold volume down the tv and pip on the remote for 5 seconds.

The Power Light is Red

yeah, should stay red when unit is turned off, indicating there's power but it's doing nothing.

Per user manual:
Solid red - power off (standby mode)
blinking red - power off (now cooling)
blinking green - power on (preparing to light lamp)
solid green - power on

Panasonic hdtv

Pull the left front panel off of the unit and you will find the lamp door behind that panel. It is very simple to pull the lamp and most times you can even see the element in the lamp has blown. You can easily buy and install the lamp yourself.

Blinking Green Light to Blinking Red

The lamp could still be the issue even though it looks ok. The other possibilities are the lamp ballast (power supply for the lamp) and/or the thermal fuse. In either case I would have a technician look at it so you don't replace parts you don't need.
