It means an addressing transistor for one column of pixels is dead. It can probably be repaired. It would be statistically unlikely for more than a couple of pixels to die over the lifetime of a set.

It means one vertical output line for vertical pixels for the screen controller is either disconnected or damaged. Most likely the screen needs replacing or the controller itself.
This is what they call "pixels", you can tap the picture with your fingers and hope it comes back on other than that get in contact with sharp regarding this. "Dead Pixels"
If pixels are gone on all channels - Exchange it Can't fix it yourself unless you are tv technician It is quite common for few pixels to be dead but that is usualy not noticable
There are solutions for stuck "and not dead pixels" Here are a couple idea's to try and please do not rate me bad if don't work!! A line from top to bottom or side to side is a dead or failed pixel sensor. There are hundreds of pixel sensors at the edges of the screen, when one fails it causes a line, the line can be red, blue, white, or black. Unfortunately, there is no way of repairing the line, other that replacing the screen.

Hope so; the problem could be an expensive one.
The screen appearance is controlled by allowing light from a backlight through by turning pixels off and on.
This switching is done by a matrix that turns on vertical and horizontal pixels of the right shade at the right time to produce the image you see.
One of the control elements for the vertical that controls the transmission of green light from the backlight, has died (no longer switching off and on when told) and these are normally a part of the LCD screen assembly itself and not easily replaceable.
I would be talking to Sharp - this shouldn't happen in 6-7 months of use.
Sorry, you have a defective LCD panel. If your TV is still under warranty, contact Sharp to get the TV exchanged. Otherwise, LCD panels cost more than the TV is worth.
