You can't turn them off but you can just turn the volume down to nothing. The audio output (sockets or jacks) give out a fixed level irrespective of the volume control so you can still use them to feed your sound system.

This is a problem with the sound select board, and there is no real solution. One thing to try is to press the manual volume up or down buttons on the side of the TV and keep them depressed to see of remote volume control is restored. This over rides the volume creep issue. I solved this by shorting the UP control to ground and the creep went away, but there is no manual volume control any more, but the remote still works.

Just check whether the volume down button on the remote or on the TV is jammed. Else, the TV needs attention by a qualified service technician.

I've got this problem these fixing only work for a sort time! Volume just turns itself down?! Anyone no the real fix?

try turning down the volume as soon as you can by tv not remote
get it under 20 at lest this is a big problem for this tv
you should be able to use tv out like to a reciever and external speckers

On the remote that came with your TV, press the Display button, which is directly below the Volume Up button. Pressing it once displays the channel number and time, pressing it twice displays the channel number continuously, you must have accidently pressed the Display button twice. Just press it once more to remove the display.

i have a 42 inch lg. works perfectly but the volume keeps going down n back up again all on its own ????

the audio output of you tv is fixed one. u can't adjust it. in some tvs we can assign the audio output as fixed or variable. you tv dosen't have thet option.

Some Sanyo TV's have a feature called Dynamic volume, this feature can be enabled by just pressing the dynamic volume button on the factory remote. We happen to offer a similar feature called volume leveling on our VIP 722k, 612, and 222k receivers. This is a recently released feature that will keep the volume even, during commercials or when changing channels. To access this press menu 6-1-6 and select enable under volume leveling.
